14 March 2024 Welcome to rskidmore who was diagnosed with RLS after 4 trips to the emergency room. Due to living in a small town, none of the ER personnel had observed a person experiencing RLS. Re: Where do I go from here?

My apologies. I was thinking of the 20+ that is often accepted as normal. Your ferritin is of course 44.

Re: Where do I go from here?

Your doctor has accepted that 20 is normal. We know that an rls sufferer needs to be up around 100. You could show him the Mayo Algorithm in my signature, in particular the section near the top where it refers to this and to the benefits of iron therapy.

Re: Where do I go from here?

Well... You got rid of your rls symptoms with .5mg ropinerole and found some peace. When desperate we feel we'd do anything. Ropinerole actually works better if taken before (perhaps an hour) the time symptoms would be expected rather than when they are active. If done this way is it possible that t...

I hope you have a seamless switch from the Gabapentin to the Pregabaline. Good luck on your journey.

Re: Methadone causing Sleep Apnea?

I only ever sleep on my right side. A neck condition prevents otherwise. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about 4 years ago.
As regards moisture, I have no idea. I don't use water with my cpap and my apneas are very low. At diagnosis they were 20 and using the cpap are around 1.

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome

If I understand you correctly - On day 15 you plan on dropping from 2mg to 1mg requip. That's a 50% drop.

I did it very differently and took 10 months to wean off 5mg requip by very small drops, using a pill cutter, and with the support of pregabalin and cocodamol.

Re: Head roll

Slightly different..... In June last year I had a dreadful headache at the base of my skull. It got worse over a couple of days. One evening I rang the out of hours duty doctor and he told me to going to ER. My husband took me. By this time my hair was soaking wet and I had towels with me to keep mo...

Re: Head roll

It's awful that you went undiagnosed for all that time.

So many doctors are not good at treating RLS. We must always do our best to educate ourselves and be able to discuss our condition, discuss the merits of different medications. Some doctors are wonderful and a treasure, others not so much.
