Re: Question (Pramipexole/Mirapex)

Thank you, Holland. It's unfortunate that drugs like Pramipexole are not safer for taking for longer periods as they really help with the RLS. As you know, I'm on 0.125 mg and I can tell you that right now I am totally RLS-free, so to speak. Too bad that this will not last forever. Regards, Leo I a...

So surprised we don't have a comedy of errors here when so many of us are sleep deprived, lol.

Re: Burning in arms and legs in early morning

I first had some neuropathy in my hands when I started pramipexole. It eventually went away. So, can be in hands! The only things I know about them: neuropathy and RLS both are things that happen as we age, so not unlikely to have both. Also, neuropathy is sometimes misdiagnosed as RLS because both ...

Re: Increasing REM sleep

For most people with RLS the primary sleep phase reduced is deep sleep. Unfortunately, this is also the sleep phase that is hardest to accurately measure outside of a sleep study with eeg monitoring. Qyx: why do you say that REM sleep is not that important? Look at what I wrote, I didn't say anythi...

Re: Esophageal Spasm and RLS

Interesting. I have had them multiple times this in the last week. My ferritin is high, but there inflammation from an unknown cause, so no idea what it really is. I have iron twice in the last two weeks, but that is too early to tell anything.

Re: How do you hold down a job?

Hi Taco Bill - a couple of thoughts. Are you sure this is the right dose? I found it hard to get to that. It is easier now, not sure why. Can you try cutting back a 1/2 tab? What time of day are you taking it? I spent years working that out. For me, the best time for methadone is 5-7 hours before I ...

I took it for awhile - maybe ten, twelve years ago. No difference. At the time I had been augmented and was still a mess, of course, but no difference in anything that I noticed.

Re: Medication for irregular use

I went back on a DA after augmenting. And, until I had iron infusions, I never stayed on them long, but did for up to 3 days (I originally augmented in around a week). It always worked for me. Now that I have had infusions, I can stay on it for months, but still take breaks every so often.

Re: Increasing REM sleep

Decreased REM sleep has not been an issue for me when it comes to marijuana. In fact, I believe that I am getting more REM sleep than without THC because I am able to get more sleep in the late night hours (2-5A) than I was get on the nights without THC. However, I am beginning to suspect is that t...

I also find tai chi more meditative and calming than yoga. I do like yoga, but it is definitely very different. And while I will never complain about yoga 2 blocks from my house every day and free (though they do appreciate donations), I would love tai chi at least two of those days! Angie, our inst...

Re: How do you hold down a job?

Hey Taco Bill- it’s been a month since you posted; wondering how you are doing? You mentioned having an appointment with Dr B-how did it go?!? Thank you for sharing. A lot of what you wrote resonated with me: the exhaustion, loneliness, feelings of worthlessness and shame, suicide ideation—these ar...

Re: I'm finally getting an infusion

I was thinking something similar to Holland. Once I have a relationship with the hematologist here, I am sure he will come around completely. He almost is there...and unless something odd happens, it will benefit me and he will definitely be on board. I also did a bit of research and found other pha...

Re: I'm finally getting an infusion

I found this: The results can vary over time depending on a person's overall health. Defined normal levels tend to vary from one lab to another but typically fall within the following ranges: TIBC: 262–474 mcg/dL Total serum iron: 26–170 mcg/dL in women and 76–198 mcg/dL in men Transferrin saturatio...

Re: I'm finally getting an infusion

Yay Beth!!! My Injectafer bill was $2250 EACH for the two infusions. Happily I only had to pay $137 out of pocket (hallelujah). I cannot imagine why hers is so darn high. Yours was just a few months ago. If it works, it is worth it...but still an incredible cost and so out of reach for many on this...

Re: I'm finally getting an infusion

It has been so nice having you near me! Loved the times we were able to see each other. And while the price is truly evil, I am so glad this is happening for you. Whatever happens, I think if we can afford to try these things (emotionally, physically, and financially), it is important to do so. If n...
