Words!

Language is a fascinating thing - at least to some of us. Recently I have been reading the Grandiliquent Word of the day. Here's hoping someone else finds this interesting, too. Sometimes I know the word, sometimes not, though I always like reading about them. Today's is: Bibliognost: (BIB-lee-uh-no...

Re: Dipyridamole

The start of the post (the whole first paragraph) is actually a quote from yawny which was meant to be in a yellow box. I will try to amend it. In fact Dipyridamole continues to work very well for me. I love it. In spite of the fact that I am having some sleep interruption at present, I am ‘myself’...

Re: Trying to cover my bases

My guess is that you have not tried it, they will have you do so. It may be less expensive to try it first as insurance may not cover what you try with one of them.

Re: RLS Foundation hosting a Patient Symposium

What great news! The first time they had one, I went. I was in such a horrible place. I met Dr B and others and for the first time felt hopeful. Truly changed my life.

And, what great news that I am close by! Will definitely see if we are in town and if so, I will be there!

Re: Recent restrictions on length of opioid prescriptions

Steve, many thanks -- I am inspired by your suggestions. Ann, thanks for explaining the out-of-state process. Sounds like you eventually moved to California to be close to Dr. B. -- ? Wow. I will send up prayers that he won't retire any time soon. I was just reading over your post above, and I'm am...

Re: Methadone and Gabapentin no longer working well

YAY! Deb, I augmented the first time in less than two weeks. I could easily take it 5 days without issue, even when my ferritin was only around 30. It worked well to take it Sun through Thursday so my week was peretty good, then be off on Friday and Saturday. My ferritin was 8 when I originally augm...

Re: Desperate

I actually use kratom to help me fall to sleep. It makes me sleepy and since I can be stimulated by both dopaminergics and opioids, it can be excellent for me. MM (medical marijuana) also does this for me, as do a few other things. If you continue to have trouble falling to sleep, it may be worth in...

Re: Let's Talk Table Tennis

We just moved into a condo complex that has a table. We haven't tried it, yet....I imagine I will be terrible since I have not played since I was about 7. We have been regularly playing billiards, though.

Re: tapering off ropinirole

DAWS is very unlikely with low doses. How much are you taking, Bronwen? Once you get to 1 mg or pramipexole, I do not believe there are issues with stopping it immediately - but check with a pharmacist to be sure. I'd check with Dr. B - email him as somno@verizon.net. He usually says to stop cold tu...
