Re: Opioid Constipation

Water definitely helps. Fiber in the diet also very much helps. Magnesium can help some people (really does me, but only one variety, which is odd). Exercise can help. I am sensitive to several foods that cause diarrhea when I am not taking opioids, but make things just right when I am taking opioid...

Views, I am so happy for you. It must have been such a nervous time waiting until it was in your hands.
As you say, now to work n your stash. I am fortunate. I use less (cocodamol) than prescribed and my stash steadily increases.
I was indeed very nervous!

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

This is so awful that meds are unavailable to this extent.. That you spend hours on the phone getting nowhere.... the frustration is soul destroying, while also trying to cope with uncontrolled symptoms. I feel so much for all of you. It truly is soul destroying, Betty. I just couldn't do it again ...

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

I am so happy for you. I am not there, yet, hoping that I have the same good fortune that you did. I've cut my methadone dose from 20 mg to 7.5 mg over about 8-10 days and upped my pramipexole from .125 to .25. I will run out of both in a couple weeks, though. I started to have some minor withdrawal...

And here is some general info about Suboxone and dental issues (and ways to prevent problems - or at least limit).

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

I talked to multiple helpful people today (and some not so helpful) - my guess is that it is the wholesaler and the DEA who are the issue. There is no technical shortage, but three helpful pharmacists and a tech told me the following. 1. The wholesalers who supply it can blackball a pharmacy from ge...

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

I'd looked at that list, too, Steve - I was VERY annoyed that there is no shortage. The names I have called them in my midnight rants, lol.

I have called so many pharmacies - none are willing to take a new patient. I really am not sure what to do.

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

The saga continues for me. I've called the Walgreens corp office to complain and wanted a district pharmacy manager to call me. They said it would be in 3 days. I also sent a written complaint. Next, I am looking at local media to see if I can get anyone interested in this story. There must be many ...

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

Well, I am in the same boat. The pharmacist at the closest Walgreens won't do it and the pharmacies I've called so far will not take on a new customer because of the shortage. I am not sure of next steps, but I'm almost out. I've asked Dr B's office about what next steps are if no one will fill the ...

Re: Reversing Restless Leg Syndrome

Well I've managed to make it through day / night 5 with no medications, the RLS symptoms are slowly subsiding but it has been very unpleasant up to this point. Its 5:28 AM here and I've been up all night with no sleep, very tired but the main reason I haven't slept all night isn't from the usual re...

Re: Methadone on backorder for nearly a month!

I just moved to Sacramento from So Cal (Orange Country). They said there was a shortage when I was here in October. That seems suspect when I have had NO issues in So Cal. I feel for you and hope they resolve this quickly. My script is due today and Dr B just called it in. It will be interesting to ...

Re: Sugar and Chocolate problems

Enough people say that sugar causes issues (and other foods), that it makes me think there must be something in sugar (and the other foods) that changes the gut composition in a way that causes issues. Some of these are temporary, some seem to be longer lasting.

Re: Oxycodone

'Alerting', so that's why I don't like going to bed til 4:00 am. I thought I was just a night owl. I have to take methadone approximately 7-8 hours before I want to be asleep (and I can STILL fight sleep even then). I usually take it by 5 PM to have any hope of getting to sleep by 12 to 1 AM. I too...
