My husband put one there years ago...and he is a TOTAL nerd - engineer, sciency-type, who believes only in evidence.

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)

The original is in German, I think... No idea if this is a solid study. A quote from the following article: "For the first time the researchers show that, in fact, it is not only the central nervous system but also the nerve cells targeting the muscles themselves that are responsible." htt...

Re: Back Surgery and RLS plus spasms

Maybe...guess you can try without. It is so much harder when multiple body systems are involved and could be contributing.

Hope they figure it out. So many of us here seem to have such odd issues.

Re: central sensitivity

Thank you, Sojourner. I honestly don't think anything could complicate my clinical picture, lol. The crazy things my body is doing...high SED rates, high ANA, but not lupus, hypothyroid, post-menopausal bleeding, and skin issues are just a few of the lovely things that go with all that pain :-). I a...

Re: central sensitivity

Very interesting. Are you recently diagnosed? Doc diagnosed me with fibro, but it doesn't seen right to me. Not sure this is, but it may be closer. Myofascial pain syndrome is another I have looked at. My hubbie and I both have times that a simply stroke on the skin can be painful. That is such an o...

Deb - so, so, so, sorry to hear this. I know you were so hopeful. This is the worst, to me. To be let down, once again.

Hope your doc can figure out something to help.

Re: methadone not working

2restless, what is his ferritin? I augmented terribly in about a week on DAs. But, since I have had three infusions and the ferritin is over 300, I can take the DA for much, much longer. I am up to three months without issue. I never could do that! Dr B still practices - he is my doc. I see him in D...

Re: Melatonin

Others have tried it without help. Valerian hasn't been all that effective for some of us, either. (if you use the search function, top right, you will find older posts about both) I cannot begin to guess how many of these I have tried. Basically, opioids and dopamine agonists are all that have help...

Re: Kratom and insomnia

I found that taking the methadone earlier helped a lot. If I want to sleep by midnight, say, I take the first methadone at 4-5 PM - say 1/4 of it. Then again at 8 PM - 1/2 of it. Then the remaining 1/4 just as I go to sleep. But that was a LOT of trial and error on my part to get to something that w...

I watched my great aunt suffer horribly! I will take feeling badly for a day or so, too!

In the past, I read the same as sleepdancer noted - it must be a joint - toe, ankle, knee, hip are most common, but can be wrist, elbow or shoulder.

Re: Social Security - US

I am waiting for a vaccine - Shingrix - to be delivered to the doctor's office. Ann, Be sure you don't have plans for the day after your Shingrix shot. They have a VERY high rate of flu-like symptoms (headache, tiredness, muscle aches and fever). Shingrix is actually 2 injections months apart. Ther...

Re: Social Security - US

I definitely don't have fibroids that are of any size, thankfully. My last exam was a couple months before my periods stopped; I never had excess bleeding, clotting, or the typical issues of someone with them and the gynecologist said there were a few small ones, but no big deal. I guess they could ...
