Re: Low-Sulfur Diet

I remember doing elimination diets - eating only chicken and a few veggies, not fruit, no starch. Took months to do. But, I think I always thought I would get back to a more balanced diet eventually, which made it very tolerable to do. And I was very happy to stop eating the things that bothered me!...

Re: Low-Sulfur Diet

Wow, that would limit my veggies to the point I would only eat lettuce, carrots, squash and sweet potatoes. Beets bother me (I do love them), corn bothers me more and I cannot stand eggplant.

So glad it is helping you and hope it continues.

Re: Our Amazon purchases can support the RLS Foundation

That's disappointing Betty...I'll just step up my purchases to cover your difference. Ann, it's taken me a few times to remember to sign in to Smile, and not the regular Amazon, and every time I missed I'm like dagnabbit! But the disappointment makes me remember now! So now I'm reminding my ...

Re: Our Amazon purchases can support the RLS Foundation

One thing to remember - always sign in on the Amazon Smile page....it does not always remind you. I sometimes search for something and open up Amazon from the search. It always defaults to regular Amazon. Sometimes it reminds you to switch. But, not always!

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

I do not think that any of us on the more severe end of symptoms are on the same treatment plan - which is somewhat startling when you think about it! Finding what works for each of us can take a lot of resources - mental, physical, monetary, etc. Here's hoping you find the one for you - and sooner ...

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

In two ways - methadone alerts me initially. While taking it the way I do reduces it, it still can be an issue. Pramipexole causes me to awaken frequently throughout the night - if I take it alone, I start waking up after about 3 hours with increasing frequency until it is every 5 minutes or so. The...

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

I find that timing is SO important on this drug. It takes at least 30 minutes to start to work, but up to 4 hours (depending on the person) to achieve full effect. For me, I take about 1/4 of my dose about 8 hours before I go to sleep, to cover the symptoms in the evening, say 6 PM. Then I take 1/2 ...

Sounds like a less firm solution than the medical grade support hose.

Re: Insomnia Research Findings

Genes can be so cruel. I inherited my father's ability to fall asleep anywhere, any time. Unfortunately, from my mother I got RLS - with a strong insomnia dimension. It's an unfortunate combination. My mom often apologizes that in a couple areas I got the worst from both of them. I figure I got the...

Re: Anyone Using Hot Tubs as Relief?

I think so many of us just do not have access to them! One of our members has one in his backyard and uses it ALL the time and finds it very helpful. Well, I went and looked at them after work today, now I understand why not many people have them. Man, those suckers are expensive! Of course the sto...

Re: First night of methadone

Yawny - his diagnosis was at the beginning of my journey. After years of all kinds of diets, restrictions and eliminations, including treating SIBO, I determined the following. To start, I had chronic appendicitis in the late 90s - not very common - and by the time they figured it out, the appendix ...
