Re: What Calms You in the Night?
My mom uses Lactaid so she can still have dairy. I am dairy intolerant - severely - but because I take opioids, I actually find dairy helpful. When I do not take opioids, not milk for me - and Lactaid doesn't help me, sadly. Hot tea, as suggested, might work. Hmmm - does it need to be a drink or food?

Re: gabapentin. 600mg. Tapering off
Thank you guess it is useless for me to be here. I don't think anyone is saying that. I think we are saying that we need to determine the "true" cause of the problem and then solve it. Have you ever answered any questions related to RLS to determine if that is what you have for sure? It c...

Wow - wish I could clone them and their attitudes!
And, such good fortune for you. So glad to hear it.

I also was wondering if you are getting tolerant...not fun, but at least you can solve that.

Re: methadone long-term
I went two months without any opioids about 8 months ago. I am going to do it again soon, then see if I can switch to a shorter acting opioid and then switch between opioids and dopamine agonists.

Re: Intermittent Fasting
No overstepping at all
.
It is so hard for so many of us to find some equilibrium about weight and food. I also never want/need to be waif slim, but I do want to be healthier. I focus on eating well for my main calories, getting exercise, and the fasting helps with the rest.

Re: Next Foundation Webinar - Opioid Advocacy
THIS ^ alone is good reason that we all should be Foundation members at whatever level we can support. $5? Send it! $50? Yup. $500? All is appreciated and used wisely. I shudder to think how little doctors and the general public would know if the Foundation wasn't doing its thing. What they do is a...

Re: Intermittent Fasting
Ann .... why keep some larger pieces 'just in case'... for a fat day, for a fat week/month. You are a lady of determination. You won't need them. As someone who has struggled with weight since she was a child, determination may not have anything to do with it! If I choose this as a way of ea...

Re: Intermittent Fasting Update
I have now been doing this steadily for about a year. Before that is was occasionally. I keep losing weight at a regular rate - about 2-3 pounds a month. It's not fast, but it's regular and I've not gained, even when I've had a few days where I didn't fast. I had my bloodwork done recently - my chol...

Re: methadone long-term
I do - but it happens much more quickly for me. I usually get tolerance in under a year. I have to stop it occasionally to prevent it. Not fun at all.
