Re: Long Time Member, First Time Poster
Hi, Thank you, this is helpful. I'm starting to now understand it is the Buprenorhine that is the active agent in both the Buprenorphine and the Suboxone with slightly different strengths and formulations. The Naxalone portion of the Suboxone is only significant if someone converts the pills and in...

Re: Looking to hear from people who replaced DA with Suboxone
This is an interesting topic. When I was taking pramipexole, I got the electrical bites in my toes - I assumed they were a type of neuropathy. I associated it with the pramipexole, I think, but this is 20 years ago, so I am not sure why I was sure it was that instead of actual neuropathy. At some po...

I have no help to offer - just glad that you are getting help with it. It sounds miserable and we already go through so much misery as it is - we don't need more!

Re: Just Joined - Chronic RLS w/ AUG - DX 2003
I don't know if this distinction matters....but you may not be augmented, rather you may have a combination of tolerance, general worsening over time, and/or opioid physical dependence. Opioid withdrawal creates physical symptoms identical (and may be) WED/RLS. It could be that stopping the opioid w...

Re: Seeing a Hemotologist
I recently searched on statins here a few weeks ago as my husband has had more symptoms and some pain since starting a statin. There are a LOT of posts here about people who've stopped or switched to a different one because of this.

Re: Oxy dosage not working
Well, I got hit by hurricane Helene. Our power went out on the 27th (Friday). My prescription for oxy was to be filled on the 30th (Monday). The pharmacies were all closed. Thinking the power would be back on in a few hours, I took Friday's 20mg of oxy. That left me 8 - 5mg pills. Saturday it looke...

Re: New Member taking high dosage of sinemet CR
Yes, that's my next challenge - to see if I can taper off the opioid and see what my baseline symptoms are. Baby steps, though! I want to get through the benzo taper first. I feel that is so important. I know other neurologists won't treat me if I'm on an opioid and a benzo. Dr. B said since my ben...

Re: New Member taking high dosage of sinemet CR
I'd like to follow-up on my original post. I met with Dr. Mark Buchfuhrer this week. His proposal would be to replace my sinemet with the opioid, suboxone. He told me about the side effects of suboxone, namely constipation and also the risk of tooth decay. He said to see my dentist within a month o...

Re: Zaleplon helpful?
I've never found a sleep medicine helpful alone because the movements wake me anyway. I think it depends on the level of symptoms. I find gabapentin makes me sleepy and will help both with sleep and with movements. If I had not used anything for the symptoms, yet, I'd try that first, and see how it ...

Re: Can oxycodone cause poor quality sleep and or daytime sleepiness?
I have been off ropinirole for 35 days now!! And for the past 3 weeks I have been taking 20 mg.oxycodone. I was hoping to have some kind of normal life by now. But now feel the need to nap 2 and sometimes 3 times a day. I think I am getting 6 hours of sleep a night. However, my Fitbit registers onl...

Re: Slightly Anaemic maybe a good thing
Interesting about the iron and the omeprazole. It cannot help, for sure, and it definitely seems like it could hurt.
Whatever the cause for the two good nights, it's a win!

Re: Seeing a Hemotologist
So far, I've had three treatments. I don't know yet how much iron I have after each treatment, as I haven't had a chance to talk with the hemotologist yet. And I have at least one more treatment before I see him. But today, for the first time, I lay down for a nap (something that used to be impossi...

Re: Slightly Anaemic maybe a good thing
My Harvard and Yale educated Oncologist / Haematologist gladly accepted the article Rust suggested. I have 2 infusions scheduled a week apart. I'm excited and guarded in my expectations. If it works then I have to find a way to get maintenance. I'm hoping he takes me on like a chronic anaemia patie...

Re: Moving to Prescott, AZ - Need a Good RLS Doctor and Methadone
Closing the loop: I've been in Prescott, AZ for a little over a year now. It's taken nearly all of that time to find a neurologist. At first, I was only able to use the local Sleep Doctor. He's a pulmonologist treating my apnea, and took over care for my RLS. He has supported my severe RLS and cont...

Re: Pittsburgh Qaulity Care Center
Had minimal business with Pittsburg, but what I received far exceeded any medical outlet I ever felt with. Absolutely treated with respect and concern I never received from the 2 major clinics in Cleveland. One Video with Dr. Aggarwal was worth more than several I had with one of the major Clevelan...
