Re: Two very different doctors' visits

Ann, That helps me to know that about your experience on oxycodone. The sleeping for 45 minutes to an hour and up for a few is what I have been doing since the dosage change. I ended up taking 5 mg at 10:00 than having to take another 1/2 at 1:30 am this morning and just now got up at 4:00 to take ...

Re: Discussion board newbie's story with meds

Some of RLS treatment is personal - both how an individual responds and the side effects, as well as what a person is willing to take/try. There is a significant number of folks who do not respond to gabapentin and related formulations. I never have. My guess is that it is related to how we experien...

Re: Shopping for mattress

There seem to be two primary options. 1. As Polar Bear mentioned, memory foam. We bought it in 2005 when I was in an augmentation nightmare. Worked very well. 2. Split twins that make a king size bed. You each have your own mattress that way. Many stores sell them with the bed supports that move the...

Re: What Severe RLS is Like

I have had vertigo on and off for about 15 years. The first time was the worst - woke up feeling a bit off, rolled over and then fell out of bed from the extreme dizziness. Vomited in the elevator - in a high rise and was trying to get to the hospital - and in the cab (the whole ride). Good heavens,...

I mix my kratom with juice and psyllium fiber, lol, and make a gelatinous goo that I can cut into squares and pop into my mouth easily.

Re: Moving from Ropinirole to Horizant

Have you had addiction issues in your life? If not, it is a possibility, but not a likelihood, that you will have issues with this drug. Yes, you will become physically dependent, just as you do to many other things, such as an antidepressant. Addiction happens to about 7% of folks, based on past st...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits

I just tried Oxycodone to see what would happen. Have been using methadone for a long time. It has not been effective for me at the prescribed dose - which was 10 mg every 6 hours. At most I would sleep 45 minutes to an hour, then up for a few and then maybe another 30 minutes. But, I take a relativ...

I knew they were working on some mouse models; will be interesting to see how close the symptoms appear to be to humans.

Thanks, Deb. No, I am south of them and close to the ocean - relatively green and moist here with the ocean so close.

Re: Two very different doctors' visits

Oh, my. Yeah, the first generation antihistamines can wreak havoc for those of us with RLS. Last year I went to a new primary care doc about vertigo. I TOLD her about RLS and how the meds usually used for vertigo would trigger RLS. She proceeded to NOT look it up and prescribe a drug that was in the...
