Thanks for all the replies. You all make it sound not too bad. Feeling better now. No good worrying about it for now i suppose. It's a proper sleep clinic. It should be good because the doctor who's seeing me is interested in all the neurological conditions i have. She studied them before going into...

Sleep clinic; what happens?
I'm going to a sleep clinic, for the first time, soon. Could anybody tell me what happens? Will there be wires sticking out of me? How are you supposed to sleep? It's bad enough on a normal night. What about in a strange environment, hooked up to all sorts of machinery?

Lexapro and rls
Does anyone know if lexapro (escitalopram) can cause rls? I believe some antidepressants can. And what about orap( Pimozide) and dixarit (clonadine)? I know some people are prescribed clonadine for rls, but i think it was one of these medications that gave me my restless legs. If i could change it f...

If you want a real manly sport you should try rugby. Just as much tackling as American "foot"ball, where you throw it ALL the time. Except rugby players don't need helmets and body armour. And in soccer you can touch the ball. And the goal is very small. I don't think you've ever seen association fo...

I'm Irish. Believe my father's family to be of Norman descent (i.e northern European. and my mother's family to be of Irish descent. I have fair hair and a red beard. It would be interesting to find out if northern europeans are more prone to rls. But i think we have to keep in mind that most people...

Is it only in rare cases that the pendulum has such a wide range? Nancyhugh, has anyone discussed any of this with you? Living in such a small country (Ireland) there aren't many people with either condition. Also, very few neurologists. (Stupid government-for a different time!) My neurologist had ...

RLS and ADHD/ADD are chemically opposite in the brain. I have both. As well as Tourette's syndrome and obsessive compulsive disorder. RLS is too little dopamine and the others are too much dopamine. I had Tourette's and adhd first. and got rls from the medication i'm on for them, because they messed...

I have rls and irritable bowel syndrome. The doctor said one of th causes of my ibs was my obsessive compulsive disorder. He said it's because people with ocd are more tense this triggers the symptoms of ibs. I'd say it could be the same with rls. Especially, if like me you're up all night feeling d...

Tourette's
Does anyone on here with rls also have tourette's syndrome? I believe it's very rare, as they are chemically opposite. If anyone does what would you reccomend as the best medication for the rls. I'm told a lot of the meds can make the tourette's worse.
