Re: Legs feeling very heavy
Would that I had doctors, Sleepy Angel! I am in Thailand and I have witnessed a succession of neurologists who see RLS patients come and go. At the moment, there is no one in the local hospital in Pattaya. There was one I was seeing at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok. I have not seen her in a while b...

Legs feeling very heavy
Hi, everyone. For the last couple of years, and more noticeably in the last few months, I have experienced heavy legs. I don't know what else to call it. My legs feel like they have dead weights attached to them when I try to walk, or even when I just stand. I don't remember this happening in previo...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
The nausea is back, but it's not the same nausea! I guess there are different kinds, or different degrees of severity. The latest nausea is, I assume, part of my withdrawal symptoms. The latest nausea responds to Motillium-M (not available everywhere I take it) and Onsia; the first nausea didn't (mu...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
My nausea broke at 13:23 Thai time Thursday. There is a God. But she charges. I await the onslaught of symptoms from stopping clonazepam cold turkey.

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks, everyone, for the posts! I don't think I have received an email alert for the last few posts. I will have to look into that. I have to make a decision regarding tapering the clonzepam. Let me sum up; and sorry if I repeat some things I have already said in earlier posts. I have round-the-clo...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
That's what I have, Beth, Zofran. I checked the list of compatible medicines first. But it seems to knock me out. I take only a half-pill. I tried different scenarios in terms of when I take what. Doesn't seem to make any difference. Right now, I take the methadone at 2 pm (I have been taking it ear...

I should add that importing items like these into Thailand can be quite difficult....

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks for the suggestions. My first task will be to see if I can obtain these items in Thailand.

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Many thanks, as always. I will try the ginger. I have obtained a heavy-duty anti-nausea medicine, but of course if I can do the job with natural products, that is always preferable. I saw a doctor at the local hospital about the nausea. She was not very helpful, other than to prescribe the medicine....

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Hi. I am answering own post! I think it is likely that the drug that is interacting with my methadone is clonazepam. And since that is a combination that everyone seems to agree is to be avoided. I think I should get off the clonazepam. Unfortunately, most experts recommend a very gradual tapering. ...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks for the tips, guys. Since a few weeks now, I have had nausea almost every day, sometimes most of the day (and night). I am trying to figure out what is causing it, and I am hoping you guys can help. I know that nausea is a side effect of methadone, but I suspect that in my case I am dealing w...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks, Holland. I have another question. As you know, I live in Thailand. There is a family function in Milwaukee in May that I would like to attend if my health is good enough to travel. Do you think there might be some value in seeking out an appointment with a doctor and centre that is recognize...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Well, I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. My regimen of 5mg methadone and 0.125mg pramipexole (and 2mg clonazepam), all taken in the evening, is simply not doing it for me. It is usually, but not always, enough to control the legs at night. It is not enough to control them during the d...

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks, Steve. One other thing that could be affecting my situation is that I am still taking 2mg clonazepam every evening. I know that stopping clonazepam is not easy.

Re: Trials and tribulations with opioids
Thanks, QyX. I guess we all respond differently. I did drop the gabapentin. As you noted, I have been taking 5mg of methadone and 0.125mg of pramipexole. I thought by taking the minimum (and maximum) recommended dose of pramipezole, that would allow me to stay at 5mg of methadone and not have to inc...
