Re: New and Have Questions

Good advice, Badnights. When I went to my new neuro., I knew right away that I knew more than he did about WED/RLS and he really did too. But you never want to imply that. If you do that will turn your doctor off right away. But I stuck with this doctor because I saw he was willing to work with me. ...

Re: A heating pad works for me

jittery girl.: Maybe that is my problem, not taking my meds on time. Thanks for the advice. I know if you mess up and let the WED get started, even if you take your meds. the WED doesn't want to stop.

Thanks again.

Re: Pramipexole Update

I am also on pramipexole. It works well, much better than before. But recently, riding in a car, sometimes even a short ride- and my WED acts up. Or sitting it also acts up, at times. Does this mean augmentation or is it just a break through or rebound etc. Also, the last time I went to a movie, I h...

Re: New and Have Questions

I'm sorry you are going through all this. Just a couple thoughts-----My neuro is also afraid of prescribing opiates. He knew very little about WED when I first went to him. But I stuck with him because he seemed to want to work with me. He did put me on Mirapex which helps so much. But I still have ...

Re: Newsweek Magazine article

Re: News Week Article----You have to be careful mixing herbs with medication. Also there is no regulations on herbal suppliments. So you don't know how much or what grade or what the fillers are. I have had RLS/WED for over 45 years and tried everything under the sun, soap under the sheets, lol. All...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

Hi: In the past I have decided to stop the clonazapam and nothing happened. But once I stopped the clonazapam and Wellbutrin and it was horrible so I went back on them. I take such a low dose of the clonazapam. Then I started reading about the dreaded clonazapam but everyone reacts to meds different...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

Thanks Beth: You would think that I would have caught up on my sleep by now. I sleep a lot, mostly through the day. Once I get this sleep study over with, I hope that the doctor can come up with something. I have to get back to driving. My husband will be 80 in June and I will be 76. If anything hap...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

Betty, I was about to suggest taking both Wellbutrin 150mg pills in the morning because one of my doctors told me that would be OK (I was on Wellbutrin for a few days but it made my RLS worse so I wanted to take it in the morning). But then I saw chipmunk's post, so I guess that won't work - thanks...

Yes, I will do that. Thanks to all of you.

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

Its Betty/WV who is taking the Wellbrutin. So Betty, please note Corrie's comment that it should be taken in the morning time. Perhaps this will make a little chink in your insomnia. We all appear to be in a circle of symptoms, kind of like dominoes, knock one over and x y and z will happen. antsy,...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

wow, you got a case of it.. that's harsh. It's hard to get through the days when everything seems to be out of control. The sleep study sounds like a good plan, it would be nice if they were able to make some suggestions to help sleep at night. With regards to the pain in your legs it is hard to fi...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

Betty love, I hope you're feeling better? I bet you're falling asleep because you're dead tired all the time, but I suppose it could be narcolepsy. How have your nights been lately, is the RLS/WED under control? I found that once I got that under control, I still couldn't sleep, until I was prescri...

Re: Calf muscles cramping etc.= WED?

I often wondered (actually in my case assumed) if the recurrent muscle spasms and achy calves is part of the rls exacerbated by the plms, but as a secondary symptom. For instance, in my case i am on my feet all day and most of the night. This is a direct result of the feelings in my body. As a nece...

Re: Medical Alert Card

I always carry the medical alert card in my purse. I saved it onto my pc and it can be updated as frequently as necessary. Also there is space to add what current medications you are on which is very important when it comes to WED. When I was adding this personal information I had to make the font ...
