Do you ever just want to pound on your legs?

Sometimes, after the nth time of being jerked out of a light sleep, I really want to beat up on my legs. I don't usually, but last night I did start hitting them in frustration.

Re: Returning member

I had bought some Taurine, based on discussions I've read here. I took one before bed last night. No RLS, and I didn't wake up until it was time to wake up. One night isn't enough to think everything's fine now, but given that I've had issues every night without fail for many weeks, it's promising.

Re: Returning member

Yes, since I've been reading on this board I plan to do that. Thanks.

Re: Returning member

I was on Wellbutrin for 1 3/4 years (stopped this past June), and Zoloft for 6 months (last year). It was the Wellbutrin that I felt seemed to help. I do get my ferritin checked. I've been taking an iron supplement (Vitron-C) for quite a while. Right now it's every other day. I don't think ferritin ...

Hi, I joined this group years ago, but haven't visited since 2007. My RLS has been up and down, and is currently up. I was on anti-depressants for a while, which actually seemed to help. I'm off them now, though, and my symptoms have gotten worse. I take clonazepam on an as needed basis, which has b...

When I had RLS during pregnancy, calcium supplements stopped all symptoms. Sounds like yours is worse than mine was, though; I had it mild back then. Something to try, though.

Has anyone tried upping their iron stores using food alone instead of supplements? I'm thinking things like tons of green leafy veges (raw). I'm trying out a "green smoothie" a day to see if it helps. Generally, I prefer getting my nutrients naturally rather than through supplements.

She did say ferrous sulfate, but then said I could take ferrous gluconate as it's less constipating. I had a hard time finding any iron supplement over 25mg. I also plan to eat a lot of green leafy veges (I already do, though) and red meat. I'm a little concerned about the side effects of taking iro...

I got my ferritin checked earlier this week, due to a recent worsening of my symptoms, and it turns out it is only 5. My doctor told me to take 325mg per day. She also said I'm just a step above being anemic. I hope this helps the rls, which has actually gotten a little better in recent days (I've b...

Re: Something I haven't heard of before

I have been using 500 mg of calcium for many years to deal with my RLS. I have to take it after the symptoms begin or it doesn't work. Very rarely I have to take two tablets. It seems to work like asprin for a headache. I wait 20 minutes and the twitching and need to move my leg goes away. Has anyo...

Thanks for pointing that out; I just read it. I am currently taking clonazepam for my rls. Typically it has worked fine for me, and I take it as needed. I go to bed, and if rls wakes me up, then I take it, otherwise, not. Lately, I've had some episodes of rls that were not alleviated by the clonazep...

Augmentation - what is it exactly?

I've been reading posts that mention augmentation a lot lately, but don't quite understand what it is exactly. Can someone define it for me please?

Thanks.

Can you describe where and how to do the acupressure? I'd like to try it.

I get hot feet every night, whether I have rls symptoms or not. Heat radiates off the bottom of my feet; I can feel it if I put my hand near my soles. The tops of my feet don't get hot, just the soles. I have a fan pointed at my feet and have to struggle to arrange the blankets in such a way as to h...

I've been using clonazepam for a few years now. I take .5mg on an as needed basis. I guess I'm lucky, compared to what I'm reading here. I don't have rls symptoms every night. So I go to bed, and if I get the symptoms (within 20 to 40 minutes), then I get up and take a pill. I read elsewhere on the ...
