Thankyou for your kind thoughts! Yep - still playing Becat! (I'm a musician - flautist) and I have some major concerts coming up so sleep deprivation is not high on my list of fun things right now! It definitely impacts my playing - if for no other reason than my motivation to practise goes out the ...

Back after a break

I first found this discussion list a few months ago and found it very helpful then. And I still find it very helpful now! I've been a bit caught up in my life in the past 5 weeks to be able to keep up with everyone, but I've just had a quick scan through and notice lots of new people. I hope everyon...

Ok - that's really weird! I'm not 3. It put a cool smiley face in instead of saying I'm 38! Very bizarre.... Must have pressed the wrong button. It's getting late ....

Going to Hospital

It's 2am here and I feel as though I've been awake for a week. This sucks .... But anyhow - I've decided to have a hysterectomy (I'm 38) which will mean I will stop bleeding constantly (flooding as I write this...), which will mean my iron levels will have a fighting chance of returning to normal, w...

I'm surprised your doctor didn't believe you regarding painful ovulation. It's a well known occurence in women. As far as I understand. There's a million websites that discuss it at any rate. Try here for starters ... m I experienced extremely painful ovulation for about 12 months. Don't know why it...

Absolutely! Without a doubt! Only I haven't kept a diary for long enough to have documented evidence so I can't prove it. But I will! I can tell when my period's coming, a few days beforehand, as the restlessness becomes a 24/7 kind of thing. I have *extremely* heavy cycles so I have just assumed th...

Sleep Diaries

I've decided to be a little more pro-active in my management of this rls business and I want to keep a sleep diary. I've bought a notebook and written in it. But I feel like an idiot. What are you supposed to write in a sleep diary?! When do you write it? How much do you write? What is it useful for...

I want to chime in with the "Me Too" crowd. I remember having jumpy legs from...... well I can't remember not having it! I remember very little of my childhood though. But I suspect it's always been there. Thankfully I have no pain - although after spending all last night reading through the reams o...

You all make me start to feel so much more normal! I have tremendous difficulty falling asleep. If I was alone in the bed I would do situps and bicycles and kicking and all sorts of fun stuff! But I'm not alone - and I don't really want to be alone! So I work with the mental games instead - sort of ...

Question....

I'm scanning through lots of old stuff and found this from jumpyowl .... "RLS one can have on its own but the majority of RLS patients will also have the leg movements. However, many people can be affected by PLMD and have no RLS (PLMD is much more frequent than RLS from a number of causes." I'm rea...

Children

Where can I find information on children and rls? This website is very comprehensive you know! An awful lot of pages to search through. My ten year old son has it very strongly, although I don't think his symptoms wake him at night at this point in time.

Thanks!

Getting to Sleep

I'd be very interested to know how long most people take to fall asleep. Regardless of rls. Until I got married (12+ years ago) I'd always assumed that *everybody* took well over an hour to fall asleep. For the better part of my marriage I have just assumed that my husband was peculiar because he fa...

Ooh - I only just found these replies. Thankyou all! You know, the iron tests I had were taken after I'd been rejected at the blood bank for being mildly anaemic. It was noted in passing that a ferritin level of 3 was abnormally low but no-one seemed to consider it vaguely important and I didn't kno...

Sorry - that last one said I was a guest. I have no idea how I logged out. But it was me! I'll pay more attention next time.... Thankyou again....
