I have a neuro who specializes in sleep disorders. I was using a physician, but my RLS got too bad for her to treat me.

An update - First, my doc is retiring. I've been with him for over a year, so I feel beyond comfortable with him and we had a good doctor/patient relationship established. He gave me the names of some other docs that actually want to treat RLS, so we'll see how things continue. My last appointment i...

Thanks guys. *huggles* I went and talked to my doctor, and he was very good about my concerns. I've been with him for over a year, and he knows that I don't like coming back to see him (sorry Doc!). So he takes that into consideration when I come to see him. He knows I tend to be more pessimistic ab...

Nervous about doc check up tomorrow

I've lurked here off and on throughout the last year or so. I really need to get back to being more regular here. At any rate, my doc and I finally figured out that Sinenet 25/250 works best for me. Hurrah! I've been taking it since September, and combined with Wellbutrin; I have returned to my "nor...

Hi Alyse, I'm 23 with RLS, as well. My doctor started me on Clonazepam. That stopped being effective, so he had me up the Clonaze some. Eventually that stopped being helpful to me. Next, we tried Sinemet 25/100. This actually worked for about 4 months, which was fantastic for me. However, it started...

I'm on Sinemet 25/250. It's working fairly well for me, after a few tries with other drugs (Clonazepam and Sinemet 25/100).

*hugs*

Hi nanawal, Sorry to hear of your frustrations - I, too was on Klonopin and then put on Sinemet. We had to turn my dosage up to 25/250 from 25/100 for (hopefully) long term relief. My doc has metioned Requip, but not unless the 25/250 variety of Sinemet no longer helps. Perhaps Requip may work for y...

Yes, my doctor rules. He is never in a hurry to just get my appointments over and done with, nor does he prescribe things without an indepth discussion first. He stresses the importance of telling him how I'm feeling so we can treat the depression and RLS. He also tries to prescribe me meds that are...

follow up

Back from the doc, we had a nice chat. Even off the Sinemet I still feel depressed, so he thinks that due to my past history that the Sinemet may just be strengthening the depression that I would get even if I weren't on it, and not the RLS frustration/sleepiness/etc causing depression. But you neve...

Ann and Penguin, thanks very much for your responses. My doctor was very cautious to say it is the Sinemet causing the depression, but pulled me off of it in case it was (better safe than sorry). I still get depressed even not on the Sinemet, so I guess that speaks for something. He had mentioned ru...

Dead ends in treatment

Hi all - I'm 23 with RLS. My doctor is a university doc and has been very instrumental in keeping tabs with my RLS. Originally he had me on Clonazepam, then on Sinemet 25/100 as the Clonazepam stopped being effective. I spent a summer on oilrigs and the Sinemet helped me get the sleep I need and sti...

Hey Joe, I'm 23 and I have RLS. *wavey* Nice to meet you. Right now I work at a deskjob (although not 40 hours a week - that's for the summer). I answer phones, doing tech support. Many times I end up pacing as I answer calls (gotta love wireless headsets), and my workplace just sorta expects that I...

Today is a great day because I am doing my job solo, rather then having "helping hands" nearby. The nearest person who can help me if things go bad (and they haven't, knock on wood) is 90 miles away.

(I work on oilrigs, FWIW) 8)

The first time I saw the commercial, I bawled my eyes out and cheered; because it (hopefully) means that people are realizing that this is a serious problem. And it also lit a fire under my rump about being more determined to find things such as this forum to vent and learn. Whoo-hooo for the commer...
