It's me again

It's Jan again. I just re-read my post and it sounds confusing (to me anyway). I left the impression (I think) that going off the hormones made my legs worse. I think that was just the natural progression of RLS. I DO think HRTs and my periods made my RLS worse. THAT was my point. Sorry for the conf...

RLS and HRTs, etc

This is Jan and just to reiterate, I'm on Mirapex and Klonopin and have had RLS for 20 years or so and my meds are doing okay. I'm now 56 and post-menopausal, but as you can see, I was about 36 when I started getting symptoms of RLS (creepy-crawlies) and during my periods my legs would ache really b...

Repeating experiences when posting

Sole--Confused?

Hi Sole The only reason I did not mention the meds I am currently taking is because I replied to a post regarding massage wraps and how they help some people who have RLS and the fact that they do not help me. My first post regarding my surgery can be found under a thread entitled SURGERY AND RLS. T...

EECP

Hi Cornelia This is Jan I'm sure glad you explained what EECP is. I had NO IDEA what you were talking about. I learned something new today! As I said, massage wraps may work on most people, but they did not work on me. That just proves that every method doesn't work the same on every person. I wish ...

Massage wraps--surgery

Hi--this is Jan I was just reading the post from Rita and Jumpy regarding Massage Wraps. I don't know if you remember, Jumpy, but I had gall bladder surgery a while back, and I had massage wraps on my legs. Well, they made MY legs go crazy, along with the benedryl and (please excuse the spelling) ve...

(((Hugs to Ruby)))

Hi Ruby--This is Jan Ruby said Hang in there and keep up your chin the best you can. It's the easiest way to see a rainbow. Isn't that a beautiful? Honestly, Ruby, that's got to be one of the most poetic statements I've ever heard! I'm feeling so much better. I got some pain medication from my docto...

RLS and Surgery

Have you ever been hospitalized after having been diagnosed with RLS and the medical personnel taking care of you did not know what RLS is? If you have been diagnosed with RLS and were in the hospital to have some kind of surgery, while in pre-op, did you have difficulty convincing your nurses or an...

Infomercial?

Dean I agree with Heron. I read your post earlier, but I'm afraid I didn't have the courage Heron had. When I read it, I immediately thought you were trying to sell us something. I REALLY hope that's not true. This site is to HELP people, not to SELL people something!!! Shame on you if that's what y...

NO STUPID QUESTIONS!!!

This is to Guest from Jan NO THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS!!! (At least I don't think so!) A thread is a string of posts under a particular subject (like NEW TO RLS). Dont' worry--everyone has to start somewhere. You'll do just fine. No one was computer literate the very first time they sat down at ...

Claradragon

Hi I'm Jan and I've had RLS for approx. 20 years. You are not alone here. There are lots of very nice people who will help you and LISTEN to you when you need to vent! A lot of people don't understand what we go through--even people in the medical field. I know what you mean by the blank stares and ...
