Saw my neuro yesterday for a checkup. After 6 weeks of being on Neurontin and reaching the prescribed target of 900mg per day, I'm doing pretty good, much better than before. I have no trouble sleeping now, am off the Xanax and the initial dizziness and drowsiness side effects have abated. He sent m...

Hey Sleuth, you were in my locale. Well close anyway. With my recent experience. I think that getting the correct diagnosis is half the battle, then you can get the correct treatment, rather than trying different meds until you happen on one that eventually helps. I've taken Prednisone (spelling?) w...

Having a similar problem with daytime drowsiness on Neurontin. I'm hoping it will pass as I only recently starting taking it. It's working great, so I don't want to give up on it. Like you, if I'm active I'm OK, but if I just sit down to relax, I'll feel drowsy and ready to take a nap within minutes...

Re: Neurontin. I've been taking Neurontin about 3 weeks now, having been recently diagnosed with neuropathy by my neuro, not RLS as my GP thought for 3 yrs. I'm glad I made the effort and got the testing done to get the correct diagnosis and have gotten the right medication to address the problem ra...

Hey Jeff My problem was similar to yours. For 3 years my GP and I thought I had RLS, but I didn't respond to the RLS specific meds (Requip and Mirapex). I was eventually (recently) referred to a Neuro who ordered a series of tests and was diagnosed as having neuropathy. He prescirbed Neurontin to wh...

Sorry to hear all the domestic problems happening at once. I've had my share of do it yourself plumbing aggravation. I finally reached the point of just calling a plumber as my first option. Yes it costs me. I figure that the time it takes me to take it apart, finding and buying correct parts, findi...

Then there were all those ads last year for one of the RLS meds. When I told someone I had RLS, they said there was a medicine for it...case closed. Another huge misconception. Dale I don't think it's a misconception, just ignorance. If it doesn't affect you personally it's hard to empathize or car...

Well I don't think people really believe that it's a joke or are uncaring about you or other peoples problems. But, it does make others uncomfortable to repeatedly hear all the details about another's health issues. Family member or friend, all the negative feedback gets to be a burden, and they don...

Had to break off the initial treatment after 3 days due to the fatigue and dizziness and the fact that I needed to be present at work. So I restarted the Neurontin last Friday. Now, after a full week on Neurontin, it's working out pretty well. The symptoms are down to a very low intensity annoyance ...

Yes. That's what I had been doing. Up until a few weeks ago when I was put on Neurontin for neuropathy. I had been taking Xanax .5mg only at night to get to sleep. I don't know if it made me drowsy or not, but it definitely allowed me to relax. And since I was already sleep deprived I would get slee...
