Re: sleep deprivation

I just took a double take at your reply. you have sleep apenea specific to thin pple? No intention of being instrusive or rude here, but just curious that there is a condition like this? rustsmith is on holidays and may answer more fully when he returns. He was diagnosed with Upper Airway Resistanc...

Re: Scripps Health in San Diego

My concern is, with everything I've tried already, are the people at Scripps going to have anything new to try? Since your ferritin is low, they might suggest IV iron. They might also/instead suggest opioid monotherapy of an opioid you haven't tried yet (seems like there are lots you haven't tried)...

Re: I'm new here!

Hi brossman DAWS is not that common, though it is scary. I augmented on fairly low doses, so I haven't had to come off a high dose, but based on what other people on high doses here have experienced, the first part of a taper will not be bad, then you will reach a point when you are not sleeping. At...

Re: Need help for mom

I hope this doctor is concerned about her daytime sleepiness and not about opioid prescribing consequences. I can't see a non-opioid med working for her, although getting off the methadone with its long half-life would probably be good. , o The doctor might suggest the rotigotine patch. Rotigotine i...

jerry, sorry I haven't been around I'm glad you've got people trying to figure out what's wrong I wrote all the stuff below as I was reading your older posts - - but after reading your weight loss post, I am adding this at the top -- I can;t say anything about it as well as Holland has, so just foll...

Re: Scripps Health in San Diego

If all your neuros eventually have said to go back to pramipexole, you haven't yet seen a doctor who actually understands how to treat WED/RLS . Go to Scripps.

Re: RLS remission - why?

not realizing until a few weeks later that stress was a constant companion. “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘till it’s gone”, to quote Joni Mitchell.
yes, stress is huge. (and even knowing that, I still can't manage to reduce it much in my own life. How perverse we can be.)

Re: Rotating Meds

You should definitley try it! I won't say more until my zopiclone has worn off - I shouldn't even be posting lol . But a comment on gabapentin vs pregabalin, it might be better to keep the pregabalin and lose the gabapentin because the latter is absorbed so erratically, it's hard to predict if it wi...

Re: Cannabis

If you look at some of the older posts - don't bother, they're boring and old - I'm not the only person who had symptoms caused by Indica whereas Sativa strains seemed to help. At the time, I thought it was reasonable because relaxation of the limbs triggers WED, and relaxation of the limbs is what ...

Re: Cooling the dialysis fluid can reduce RLS/WED severity

What the heck? Do they have any idea why? They offer a number of suggestions, but they don't know why. I think people have been using cool dialysate to prevent blood pressure and other circulatory problems, and they noticed that it seemed to reduce WED symptoms, which led them to do a proper study ...

Re: RLS remission - why?

Could this remission have something to do with reduced stress related to my retirement? I certainly noticed a lifting of low-level stress that I had hardly noticed while I was working - the constant knowledge that a moment’s inattention in my work could really hurt somebody, or conversely, if I was...

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

whoa. I remember you mentioned that before - about the dipyridamole making your WED worse. I didn't think it through at the time but I should try to puzzle it out why that might be. I have augmented. Perhaps you are getting worse, as you say, but that doesn't mean it's irrevocable. I know my conditi...

The tireder I get the more mistakes I make. I haven't put the milk in the cupboard yet, but the other day I found a cupboard-thing in the fridge.

Re: Excellent article on opioids

Agreed.
All this is important because quite a few states enacted the CDC guidelines into law, sometimes even being more restrictive. Without more media coverage, there will not be much pressure on those states to back off on their own restrictions.
And it's way harder to change a law than a policy.
