Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US

I spoke with Megan at Sensory Medical, manufacturer of the Relaxis, the new vibrating device for WED. The product has been slightly delayed and should be out in mid to late October. Insurance coverage will take longer, but the company is encouraging the distributors to allow us "trial" or ...

Re: Theories about WED

I have nothing to add, but want to thank all of you contributing to this thread. I am WAY in over my head, and will probably have to read this a dozen times more to BEGIN to follow it, but just wanted to say I appreciate your time and thoughts. With that said, I did gather that buying a bottle of B-...

A Good Week!

Since I am always here complaining about bad weeks, thought I would post my (unexpected) good week WED-wise! For no discernible reason, my symptoms have really calmed down I am down to 2 percocets per day (from 3), allowing me to replenish my stash a little bit. Not only that, but the two pills a da...

Re: My pharma diary

Oh Ann, I feel ya!! Although I am VERY lucky, meds allow me to sleep at night, I have symptoms up and down all day (meds help, then stop helping, then wait for next dose, then relief, then they wear off, then next dose, well, you get it). I wonder, frequently, what it would be like to have an entire...

Re: Adding Lyrica?

I remember being prescribed Percocet for CRAMPS!! This was probably 30 years ago. I think docs would suggest a hysterectomy before giving you an opiate for cramps haha. I think you are exactly right QyX...docs overprescribed, kids got hooked on their parents pills then moved to heroin, and now the p...

Re: Adding Lyrica?

My doc will only go to 20mg total of Oxycodone. I hate to hit the top level after only 2 1/2 years (want to leave room for one more increase). Extended release oxy (without the tylenol) caused me side effects which makes no sense but there you go. I believe she thought I was asking for Methadone in ...

Adding Lyrica?

Hello peeps! I have been on Percocet ( 5mg at 9:00am, 2pm, and 7pm) but having a lot of breakthru symptoms. I suggested Methadone but my doc wants to try Lyrica. I have already tried Gabapentin and gained a pound a day for 8 days so I would rather jump off a bridge than go through that again. Anyone...

Re: Opoids + OTC pain meds

But still take careful note. Claratin messes with me so I have to decide which is worse, allergies or aggravated RLS. It took several weeks and a really good doc to figure that one out. I was popping a claratin every day without giving it any consideration...thought I was augmenting on opioids (beca...

Re: Opoids + OTC pain meds

Let me start by saying: I am weird. My body is weird. I was taking percocet (combo of opioid with tylenol) 10-15 mg per day. My doc wanted me to try straight extended release oxycodone 10 mg (which I think has the terribly misaligned name oxycontin, so people think you are serious snorting/shooting ...

Re: New Member - Topic: Getting off Mirapex so I can fly

I asked my son this weekend about medical certificates for "sport plane" and he believes you would not need a medical for this type of plane. Here is an article on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light-sport_aircraft

Re: Meds overseas

You guys are a good reality check for me! I mean, I watched Midnight Express as a teen and it scared the crap out of me. Now, because I take legitimate prescription meds, I forget that not everyone has same honest intentions that I do haha. I put one week's worth of pills in my purse every Thursday ...

Re: New Member - Topic: Getting off Mirapex so I can fly

Ha Ann! Brilliant minds think alike, I was going to suggest leftseat.com. I believe you can "hire" them to help walk you through a medical exception. Richard~ are the requirements for a sports pilot as stringent? I seem to remember they are not. Our son is a pilot and I remember taking him...

Re: Meds overseas

Now you are talking! My doc is wonderful, and I know she trusts me. By the time I go to Germany for the grandbaby, I will have been on Oxycodone for over three years. I bet she would write it for 60mg per day on a one-time basis. I have been trying like crazy to "stash" some pills away but...

Re: anyone's meds have worked 5 years or more?

Yes, I had trouble sleeping with the methodone, it felt a little like speed, but took the edge off the WED. Then I did something stupid the next day and took multivitamins and got really sick with the combo. I don't mind slowly increasing the dosage (with or w/o docs permission) but what is the use ...
