Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study
Blessings to YOU, Sue!! I wish I was brave enough to do it, but I just can't maintain working, etc, and go off meds. Thank heavens you are brave enough and willing enough to sacrifice for all of us!! Keep us posted, you are in my heart

Re: Achy morning legs
Update!! I have figured out part of the problem. I have been taking an increased amount of Lexapro for depression. I moved from 30mg to 40mg and finally figured out that might be the problem. I lowered to 30 mg again and BINGO!! The morning symptoms have delayed to lunch time for the most part and I...

Re: New New Strategy for Fixing Me
This stuff better be pretty dang strong or it will totally mess up my work. God bless America, the world, and all its chemists! I sure hope this doesn't last (although I would be mad to want it to end). The reality check is I gotta work and pay the bills! In the meantime though I will sit here and ...

Re: John Hopkins Glutamate Study
Thanks from me as well. I talked to Tiana at Hopkins about this study but I am just not in a position to go off all meds for 13 days. Being self-employed, I am sure I would end up firing myself, I am quite anxious to hear of your experience!!

Re: Retitled: Phase II, let it begin.
About a week ago - probably on New Year's Eve - I located the 8 doctors in my new insurance plan who are covered and who are hematologists. I discounted the ones that were over 55 - sounds mean, but so many of us have had better luck with younger docs who are more willing. I narrowed it to two and ...

Re: after foot surgery
Slightly off-topic but this thread reminded me I had bunion surgery on my right foot with twilight sleep. Two weeks later, with my right foot in a boot, I had my left-foot bunion surgery. I woke up to my legs in battle with each other...the funniest sight of RLS ever... the boot and the newly bandag...

Re: Achy morning legs
Beth~ The morning achy symptoms are lasting longer now...even into the evening. My "usual" symptoms of the twitch and jumps begin when I rest for the evening (reading, sleeping (lol), etc). I am a little stumped because I don't know how to treat the aches independantly of the WED. Percocet...

Re: Requip
Shelby1 Sorry we all seem to be reacting strongly to this. In my case, it is because I have been on the Requip train from hell. I started at one tablet (0.25) per day and ended up at 9-12 per day. At the time, conventional wisdom was 4 mg (16 tablets) was ok for RLS. The problem was, I became a zomb...

Re: Achy morning legs
Ann~ I have the jumpy leg thing (sometimes arms too) in the afternoon and nighttime. I define that as an unrelenting need to move and if I can't, my legs will move themselves. If I have not taken my evening dose of meds, I may fall asleep but have the jumps waking me up. I also have the periodic lim...

Achy morning legs
Hi friends! I have RLS/WED, was diagnosed about 3 years ago. Thanks to some great doctors, it is under control with meds (Percocet, 5mg/ two to three tablets per day). Although I had nighttime symptoms for all three years (every night), I have just started having achy legs in the morning. I mean rea...

Re: Anyone else tried vicodin?
After doing a clinical trial with Dr. Allen (who works with Dr Earley), Dr. Allen recommended Dr. Salas, who passed me along to Dr. Seema Gulyani. Dr. Gulyani is a PhD nurse practitioner in the Johns Hopkins Sleep Center. On a scale of 1-10, Dr. Guylani gets 1000. She takes so much time with me, ret...

Lexapro-Is this a problem?
I have been through the wringer with RLS/WED. I am so grateful to my new docs who got me off Requip (what a nightmare). After trying most of the other meds, I am currently on 10mg of Percocet per day, which gives me 4 or 5 decent nights of sleep per week. I have discovered the hard way that I cannot...
