Re: admins in the "Natural" section should not be taking med

Dwimble, I can see that you admit no possibility of error in your understanding of RLS, and you are certainly entitled to your view. My guess is that nothing will dissuade you. The fact that many people with severe RLS, myself included, test very low for inflammation--you will discount that. That fa...

Re: admins in the "Natural" section should not be taking med

I am not a doctor, but I have to respond to this comment by dwimble: "I'm not inferring that the top diseases are inflammatory ... that's now common knowledge. That's not even debatable anymore." My understanding is that something--usually some kind of pathogen, causes the inflammation. Wh...

Re: admins in the "Natural" section should not be taking med

I'm sorry, Dwimble, but you are setting up a false dichotomy here. I'm not anti-meds, just profoundly grateful that I am not yet at the stage where I might have to take them. And I am grateful for the input of the admins--or anyone else--whether they are currently taking meds, or have taken them in ...

Re: Dependency? Be Afraid, Very Afraid

Just a note about Kratom. I imagine it affects people in different ways. I've found that no matter what strain I take, a small amount helps me sleep. It doesn't make me feel sleepy, but it stops the hyper alert sensation, and then I just go to sleep because I'm tired. What seems to work best for me ...

Re: Dependency? Be Afraid, Very Afraid

EeFall, you remind me of General Patton's comment that "Courage is fear holding on a minute longer." I'm glad you're holding on. Of course you will still have bad days as well as good days, but keep holding on that minute longer.

Re: Remission?

It was wonderful to hear from you. And I am so glad that the remission is holding. Actually, your RLS seems now at about the level mine is--small bouts at night that I can walk off. Or sometimes I just stand and read the news on my computer for 20 minutes. And I do take some kratom to get rid of the...

Re: A Statagy for Fixing Me - My Visit to a RLS/Apnea Guru

Oops. Reading over my post, I realize I sound very harsh about neurologists. I understand that most are doing the very best they can with the available options. But it seems to me that the available options are not good enough to try. And I guess I'm suspicious about their reporting of instances of ...

Re: A Statagy for Fixing Me - My Visit to a RLS/Apnea Guru

You obviously know much more about Kratom than I do. Still, it might be worth it to get a hold of some leaves, crush them up, and see if they help the WED. It would be a shame if your current stash is no longer good, but wonderful if the fresh stuff really helps you. Reading all of your postings, as...

Re: A Statagy for Fixing Me - My Visit to a RLS/Apnea Guru

Just a thought about the Kratom. I think it loses potency over time, esp. if it is the powdered variety. Since you have such a large supply, perhaps the problem isn't that you've developed a tolerance as much as the kratom you're using has lost its potency. I'm reading that the best way to ensure fr...

Re: A Statagy for Fixing Me - My Visit to a RLS/Apnea Guru

With probably lots of other people, I've been reading your story with my heart in my mouth, hoping that you could come through it. At times I was so tempted to advise you just to call 911, but I knew it wasn't my place, and that you had already thought through all of your options. So congratulations...

Re: A List of Natural Remedies that Will Lessen your RLS

Hi Dwimble, I appreciate your post, and the time you took to spell all of this out for us. And I am really glad that the vitamins seem to have done the trick for you. But, as I'm sure you know, this is a very complex disease, and it seems to affect people in different ways. For example, I have been ...

Re: The trouble with opiods

I hope your doctor is back and you have your meds again. I just saw your post. If this happens again, you might try kratom. It's a non-prescription mild opiate and it's all I use except for vitamins and supplements, available on the Internet. It is legal. I get mine from a site called kratom therapy...

Re: Article on Kratom

Thanks for the link, Erika. The study is interesting. I'm so glad scientists are doing studies on it. And Eefall, thank you for your information. For me, one gram, or even half a gram sometimes, definitely helps the restless symtoms, and that same amount also helps me sleep. Perhaps it's because I h...

Re: Article on Kratom

Good question. Apparently if you use the leaf, it's pretty quick, maybe 15 minutes. I use the capsules and it's longer, probably closer to an hour. Although if I have some already in my system, taking more seems to work faster. It's why I take one in the early evening, when I don't have much in the ...

Re: Article on Kratom

Hi Erika, I get all of my Kratom from Kratom Therapy.com, so I'm using their brand. However, I'm using almost all of their kinds now (that are in capsules). I mix them up in no particular order, and can't really tell a difference among them. Maybe if I paid more attention . . . I'm just hoping by mi...
