Safety Information regarding Carbamazepine: The FDA informed health care professionals that dangerous or even fatal skin reactions (Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis), that can be caused by carbamazepine therapy, are significantly more common in patients with a particular human...

Re: My pharma diary

Hi! You are partially right. In the U.S. a genetic test is required before Carbamazepine can be prescribed. People with a specific gen variant are very likely to experience heavy side effects. But when you compare Carbamazepine to Valproat acid or Gabapentin there is not much of a difference when it...

Yes. When I strictly follow me schedule I am almost 100% free of symptoms.

Re: Well, THAT was interesting!

I know the twitching from Oxy. In my case it went away after some months. There are also other opiods except Methadone which you can try. The most common are Morphine (my preference), Hydromorphone and Oxymorphon. I never had twitching with Morphine and Hydromorphone. Oxymorphone is not available in...

Re: Suboxone - Living on the Edge

Hahaha, I thought of this propofol thing before I tried Carbamazepine. Before Carbamazepine I was living day to day. Now I am making plans again, slowly but constantly.

Re: My pharma diary

I have never used an anti convulsant medication and am very interested in how well it has helped you. It might be possible that I could consider substituting this for my sleeping medication which does not appear to have much of an effect. Hmmm... worth thinking about. I tried a lot of anti convusla...

Re: Suboxone - Living on the Edge

I knew this hyperalterness from the narcotics/opioids from day #1. I tried a lot of drugs to battle it, including Lyrica, Gabapentin, Benzodiazepines and so on. Nothing worked locker then a couple of weeks or I developed untolerable side effects from the Benzodiazepines. Then I discovered Carbamazep...

Re: Meds overseas

There is also one other option regarding to the 30 day rule. You said you are taking 15 mg of Oxycodone per day. So you would be allowed to bring 15 x 30 = 450 mg Oxycodone into the EU. If your Doctor writes you a statement that you take 60 mg per day which still would be a normal dose, you could br...

Re: Insomnia & Anxiety

You just described the way how I feel without or little sleep. I was struggling with these feelings for over 2 years now until I found a drug which added to my opioid finally let me sleep. The drug is an antiepileptic called Carbamazepine. Without Carbamazepine I can't sleep. The drug doesn't sedate...

Re: Well, THAT was interesting!

I am on opioids for 2 3/4 years now. I had episodes were I though all my symptoms are gone, especially in the past weeks and I was trying to stay away from meds complete. But it didn't work out. Over the months I noticed that I have weeks were I have less severe symptoms as normal. The symptoms can ...

Hello! I am from Germany and if you still need information about how to deal with your situation please let me know before I start writing pages of pages. Your scripts from U.S won't do you any good here in Germany. Narcotics in Germany can only be prescribed on a special script called "Betäubu...

Re: anyone's meds have worked 5 years or more?

You may just have to take more of the Methadone. You started with a very low dose. It might take some time to find the right dose. It is not safe and risky to start potent opioids like Methadone at a high dose. Have you tried other potent opioids like Oxycodone, Morphine or Hydromorphone in the past?

Re: Augmented on Pramipexole

Wow, you managed full 9 months without augmenting. I would say this is something! I never was able to take Pramipexole for longer then 4 weeks. Now I can only take it for 3-4 days before I start augmenting. Of course I tried swichting to other DAs but that didn't help. On Ropinirole I augmented on d...
