Re: Is anyone else still on clonazepam?
I just saw my doctor after trying different doses of gabapentin with 1 1/2 mg. clonazepam. My RLS is manageable and I'm sleeping through the night but have shooting pains in the thighs from early evening through the night. I'm up to 800 mg. gabapentin. Like RLS pain varies each night. Each increase ...

Re: My new Relaxis
Is there anyone out there with severe RLS that does not think they would have PLMS without or in my case with even with medication. I don't see the difference except some have not been through a sleep study.

Re: Is anyone else still on clonazepam?
I agree with most everything in the posts. I just never had side effects from clonazepam and only quit because of a possible link to Alzheimer's found in a large Canadian study. The study has been questioned by a U of Washington study that found no link. I had more side effects from gabapentin but t...

Is anyone else still on clonazepam?
I'm just curious because I see it mentioned so seldom on the forum. I actually see it much more in relation to RLS on a benzodiazepine forum where everyone is struggling to get off. I was on up to 3 mg. once a day for 20 years, came off it for a year using gabapentin to try the DAs. After giving up ...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs
I don't know how and doubt you can direct oxygen to a specific area but high oxygen can do amazing things to bring back damaged tissue. The best example is burn patients. And it does not hurt the rest of your body (probably helps) as long as you take into account oxygen toxicity which only occurs ab...

Re: Requip & Erectile Dysfunction ???
I'm 15 years younger but it did the opposite to me for the year I was on ropinirole. I figured it was the dopamine. When I quit it took a few months for my sex drive to fully return, which was a big relief.

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs
I don't know what levels they use in hospitals. I think in absolute pressure so we are already at 1 ata. I worked in the diving industry and a typical bends treatment would be 60 feet of seawater (3 ata) breathing 30 minutes of oxygen followed by 15 minutes air repeated however long the doctor said....

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs
Someone talked about the tiny bit lower pressure in an airliner triggering RLS (lower oxygen). I know getting on a plane always triggers mine but I never thought that could be the cause. I always chocked it up to being in a constrained position.

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs
Pushing oxygen is exactly what hospital based chambers are for, improving circulation for issues like burns, cancer, etc. I'm no doctor but would think RLS would be little lower oxygen delivery, not a significant reduction that would cause tissue damage. If you just to breath pure oxygen long enough...

Re: RLS and Increasing Circulation in Legs
I never get RLS when I am distracted so it is hard to tell what might work. I bought a $3000 massage chair because it made my RLS go away when I was suffering while walking through a mall. Great chair but did not continue to help RLS. Hypoxia in muscles should be easy to test in hyperbaric chambers....

Re: Restiffic
It seems to me that these researchers found what may help a significant number of RLS sufferers, so they did not publish their research for a number of years, pursued FDA approval and then offered their product at an exorbitant price. They shared nothing I know of with organizations like rls.org. Se...

Re: First post. Questions: RLS & Sports Recovery, Naps, Etc.
I'm surprised that someone with significant untreated RLS can nap. That would set mine off even under heavy medication. Even under medication the first 15 minutes I lay down at night intensifies the RLS, then I pass out. I jogged and or worked out about the last 30 years and for some time did long d...

That is just malpractice to stop supplying a benzo like that. Very serious for someone unprepared. They are even cheap here in US. Probably why supplier is holding back, not enough mark up.

Re: Effectiveness of Gabapentin/Neurontin Over Time
Good luck with your Mom yawny. Go Slow! I inadvertently tried to get my mother in her 80s to try Clonazepam because she has severe restless legs also and it works well for me. Her doctor quickly gave her a script for twice the dose I was on for some or no reason. At the time I really had no idea how...

Re: Effectiveness of Gabapentin/Neurontin Over Time
badnights I don't think my doctor, my wife or I are misinformed when you see the news coverage of the over use of or commercials for medicines to deal with the side effects of opium. I definitely want that to be the last resort and I understand many people are already there. It would be great if we ...
