Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

My sleep consultant had me on pregabalin when I was withdrawing from pramipexole but unfortunately it did nothing for my symptoms at the time. She totally ignored my plight when I was without sleep for nearly 3 months after coming off pramipexole even though I contacted her several times. I now wish...

Re: What DA to take

Good luck Julie. I think it was your posts that first introduced me to kratom - I had never heard of it before and it has been a life saver for me over the last two and a half years. I don't rely on it solely but I don't know what I would do without it either. Thank you for your informative and enco...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Yes, cold turkey from 3.5mg sounds pretty severe. He does have a lot of experience getting people off d/as but I presume he always gives them opioids to assist. Your experience of reducing from 5 to 3.5 without dreadful symptoms mirrors my own in the early stages of withdrawing from pramipexole but ...

Re: What DA to take

If you have to discontinue kratom it might be worth starting to reduce now as there may be a slight withdrawal issue, especially as you have been taking it for so long. Your rls might be slightly exacerbated during the withdrawal process. I would have thought a dopamine agonist for a few weeks would...

Re: Iron supplementation & Constipation

What iron supplementation are you taking? I have heard that iron bisglycinate (aka 'gentle iron') is less severe from a constipation point of view. Never heard of that perineum pressing solution before - it's inspired - so obvious - like slicing bread before selling it - obvious and yet elusive unti...

Re: Experience with Injectafer?

That is AMAZING news, Holland. It has made my day to read this. I found that there is a slight withdrawal process with kratom - even when dose is quite low - predominantly flu-like symptoms, a low mood, perhaps some elevated anxiety and some increased rls - but usually it doesn't last too long with ...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Betty, I would definitely email Dr. Buchfuhrer and outline all the drugs you are taking and the plan of your GP. I don't know for sure but I would have thought that pregabalin will not provide adequate cover while you are withdrawing from ropinerole, even if you take long breaks at each stage of the...

This also suggests it is a useful alternative to iv iron. I think I will order some.

Re: introducing myself. very much in crisis

I had this exact problem and it resolved completely the day after I took the last mirapexin. 0.5mg is a high dose of mirapexin - twice the current recommended upper limit for rls as I understand it. You will likely need opioids to help withdraw from the drug and will need to be strategic as to how t...

RLS and Adrenaline - it's an ill wind ...

I am going through a difficult relationship breakdown which is throwing up all sorts of very worrisome issues. This has caused me to experience pronounced fight or flight symptoms on a more or less daily basis over the last 3 or 4 months. These often occur most significantly in the evening as time z...

Re: Attempting to get off Ropinirole - again

Dear Betty, Well done for taking the first step in reducing your ropinerole and many good wishes for the forthcoming gradual elimination. I am certain you will not regret it ultimately. You may find your symptoms settle down quite a lot and are much more treatable once you have washed the dopamine a...

Re: Melatonin

Dear Betty, I would think it would be wise to wean given a dose of 4mg. You might be pleasantly surprised initially at how little impact reducing the dose has. I got quite low before symptoms worsened appreciably. It was the calm before the storm however because it was torture from then on. I was su...

Re: New to group.

Gayle, if you are really desperate it might be worth trying Kratom. It’s not legal everywhere but it can be ordered by post and is usually effective against rls - I find it more effective (and also easier to discontinue) than prescription opioids. Also, cannabis, taken as an edible can be very effec...

Re: Kratom and insomnia

I really sympathise with your husband. Opioid induced insomnia was a real problem for me when I was using oxycontin to treat my legs and it was definitely dose sensitive - ie the more opioid I took the worse the insomnia. Unfortunately, I have found that kratom can also induce insomnia. Some reports...
