Heart Rate Variability Indicators - Specifically LF/HF

Hello - I just typed up a lengthy post in the "Sleep Monitor" thread and I won't duplicate it here; however, I was wondering if anyone has looked into their Heart Rate Variability (HRV)? More specifically their Low Frequency / High Frequency ratio. This is a rough indicator of nervous syst...

Re: Sleep monitor

So, I bought a Polar H10 and downloaded the sweetbeat app. Although I've tracked my sleep for a few days, I haven't been able to interpret my sleep results very well. Did you happen to try this app? However, I have also been using the H10 and the app to monitor my HRV (stress levels & recovery) ...

Re: Requip and Sleep Quality

I'm very much convinced that, although DA's allow you to sleep, the quality of the sleep is severely lacking. I've been sleeping for 6-8 hours consistently for the past 14 weeks on Mirapex; however, I feel only slightly more refreshed.

Re: Sleep monitor

StJohn -

Thank you for posting all this. Quick question, how are you using this data to actually improve your sleep quality?

Re: Requip and Sleep Quality

St John, you have been an incredible resource and I’m sure myself and many others appreciate the effort you have put in. Just to clarify - are you saying that the MMJ/GABA/Horizant as a stand-alone prescription prevents the poor sleep quality? Or, in addition to other meds allows you to get more res...

Re: Counterstrain Technique

Thanks. I’m doubtful, but am looking for a practitioner in the U.S. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Re: Cycling DA's (Requip)

THC improves my sleep quality, but I am unable to go to sleep (onset) once the psychoactive component kicks in. My mind won’t shut off. I just got access to measurable thc/cbd products. I haven’t had enough time to test it, but it seems like the cbd also prevents me from falling asleep (onset). Not ...

Re: Cycling DA's (Requip)

I’m glad you mentioned that St. John. My iron serum is at 101 ug/dL and my ferritin is 254ng/ml, so I’m good there.

MMJ does calm my legs, but I cannot sleep on it; it’s a horrible paradox.

Requip and Sleep Quality

I’ve been taking .25mg of requip for about two weeks. Although it is effective in terms of reducing my WED symptoms and allowing me to sleep 6-8hrs; howev XX wake up feeling groggy and my sleep is definitively not as restorative as it is naturally. I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this? If s...

Re: Vacation and RLS

I never saw this response, but, yes, it has to be. Stainless wrote “My leg hurt especially while in bed but the RLS was not a problem” My RLS went into remission when I thre my back out, both times. It also goes into remission Whenever I go vacation, when I moved in with my girlfriend, and when I mo...

Re: Counterstrain Technique

Thanks. Wondering if anyone else has any thoughts? Somewhat puzzling because the patients did not stop their meds and there was no change in sleep loss. Despite this, the aggregate RLS score improved by 10 points. They don't show what specific areas of the questionnaire improved, just the aggregate,...

Re: Cycling DA's (Requip)

Will do. My ferritin levels are w/in range. Everything I have tested (iron, vitmains, ldl, etc.) for has come back within range. Although I've had RLS for a few years, formally diagnosed for about a year, I think that, for me, its stress-related. . The DA makes me groggy and the quality of sleep isn...

Re: Cycling DA's (Requip)

Thanks for the quick response. Am i able to replay the webinar?

GABA didn't work for me, but I'd give it a second try if needed.
