Re: Spinal Stimulator
I am now having more good nights than bad nights. I'm having 5 and 6 nights in a row of good sleep. I feel that we finally have it set correctly. Since July 28th, only about 4 nights that weren't so good. The best has been the last two weeks. How is the quality of sleep? Very refreshing? Or, medioc...

Dr. Ondo had performed a study on this drug to determine if it can help with augmentation. The abstract doesn’t say much, but I was wondering if anyone has any additional insight into this medication and/or it’s use for RLS. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33066723/ https://www.mdsabstracts.org/abst...

Re: Another year of relief (Low-oxalate diet)
I don’t understand the connection between oxalates and RLS. These papers says oxalic acid does not influence iron

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)
I’m wondering if it is a TENS or NMES, the electrical current I believe is different as is the rhythm. A proprietary rhythm of the stimulations could make this uniquely effective for RLS. Also they are focusing on a nerve near the calf. I’m very interested to see what the actual protocol is.

These results suggest that NPNS could be a promising alternative to pharmacological therapies for RLS and could provide a solution for medication-resistant RLS patients and for medication-naïve RLS patients who are unwilling or unable to take medication.

Short-Term Disability Question
Has anyone gone on short-term disability due to RLS? I’m wondering how to go about this and would like some help on who to turn to. I don’t have a primary care physician at the moment. I have had a patella tendon injury for several years. It has not healed due to the lack of sleep from RLS. The knee...

Re: Massager
It was not able to control symptoms over the long-term. I provided temporary relief, but it isn’t sufficient enough to fall back asleep for very long. 20-30 minutes max If I have breakthrough symptoms, I can use it for short-term relief until the additional medication is needed. This rarely happens.

Like all things, this turned out to be a dud in the long run. It’s something I use in my toolkit to help manage break through symptoms.

Re: How many hours do you sleep?
What is it that wakes you up? The RLS or just random awakenings? That is what I am hoping that the latest sleep study will reveal. It isn't simple RLS and I didn't have any PLMS during the study that showed 45% sleep efficiency. I had some mild RLS urges once during the night during this recent stu...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?
Sleep is more complex than most people think. There are several stages, and only the deeper stages give refreshing sleep. So a person can sleep 8 hours and still not be refreshed. It is not easy to determine how long each stage of sleep lasts for a particular individual. I spent a year monitoring m...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?
4 hours average the last two weeks... i did get extra sleep using more twice the prescribed amount of gabapentin... from 1200 mg to 2400 mg. i am wondering if the RLS is outgrowing the good affects of Gabapentin. i have really strong affects from RLS. shooting nerve twitches that literally take me ...

Re: How many hours do you sleep?
Between "sleep" at night and naps during the day, I spend between 10.5 and 11 hrs/day in bed. But my sleep study last year found that it takes me about an hour to actually fall asleep and then for the rest of the night I am only asleep about 45% of the time. So for 10 hrs in bed at night, I am only...
