Re: Power Plate

Funny discussion! I would much rather skim a page of writing than watch a video about most things. And the times I do want to watch a video, I speed them up a bit. Fortunately YouTube and most other video sites have the option to change the speed to 1.25 or 1.5 speed. Also, I'm thinking that vibrati...

Re: Iron Patches

Well darn it, Ann! I take something like 6 grams of vitamin C a day. Odd they would put it in a patch; I thought vit C was to help iron absorption in the digestive tract.

Iron Patches

Someone in a bariatric surgery group just posted about these vitamin patches. They have multivitamin patches that have 45 mg of iron, as well as iron-only patches. The get great reviews, and I'm going to give them a shot. I'm due for my check-in with the hematologist to have more iron infusions, but...

Re: Kratom berry compote

The whole "opioid epidemic" hysteria thing drives me crazy. Did any of you see the 60-Minutes segment or Washington Post article on how the pharma industry are driving the epidemic by diverting their drugs to the high addiction parts of the US? It is crazy to cut people off of meds like me...

Re: DEA Making Kratom a Schedule 1 Drug

After reading everyone's comments in the forum here, I ordered some white Bali kratom about a month ago from SoCal Herbal Remedies. I finally got around to boiling some up and trying it about a week ago. I've been taking methadone for many years, and recently my RLS has gotten to the point where the...

Re: ferritin

Peanut, you may want to question your doctor about the cholesterol thing, or get a second opinion. Thoughts have changed a lot about that issue in recent years, though eating organ meat every day may cause other issues. It seems like getting too much copper can be a problem with organ meat, but not ...

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

There are different types of casein depending on the source. The larger cows, like Friesians and Holsteins produce milk with a1 beta casein, and that type of casein has been associated with health concerns and inflammation. The smaller cows, like Jerseys and Guernseys, as well as sheep and goats, pr...

Re: Nicotine helps me

Beth, narcolepsy is autoimmune, and the hypocretin neurons are completely destroyed. They do not come back. There is a huge difference between smoking cigarettes and using an e-cig or a nicotine patch. Smoking causes all kinds of problems that other forms of nicotine do not. Pharmaceutical companies...

Nicotine helps me

For a couple years now, I have been using an e-cig to help manage the EDS of narcolepsy. I actually started out trying nicotine patches, but they are expensive, and after several hours I would get intense anxiety and need to remove the patch. I have never smoked cigarettes, even though a high percen...

Re: Magnesium........does it help??

I have been following this group: http://gotmag.org/ They have some very interesting information and ideas about magnesium. They insist that having serum magnesium tested will not reveal a mag deficiency unless it is really extreme, because the body will rob mag from the cells to keep an even level ...

Re: Wahls diet for WED? Trying it.

Hi Beth. It's been way too long since I've checked into this forum. Interesting that you have been trying out the Wahls Diet to find out if it would help with your RLS/WED. I have been on a similar journey with diet, since December 2013, when I stopped eating gluten. I did it to find out if it would...

Re: WENT ON SUBOXONE TO AVOID RLS WITHDRAWL FROM PAIN MEDS

Isn't Clonidine (a blood pressure medication) used to help with the RLS-like symptoms when withdrawing from opiate painkillers like methadone? I have that info filed somewhere in the deep dark recesses of my brain. It might be worth checking into.

Oooh, that sounds like so much fun! I can't imagine planning anything that far ahead, though. I would forget all about it by the time the performance came. Although I have a smart phone now and that really helps with that kind of stuff. We spent a fortune on tickets to Les Miserables in December, bu...

My understanding was that she was using a blood pressure cuff until she could get a pneumatic compression device that she had ordered from Sears. Unfortunately the link she posted is broken so we may never know. Anyway... I've seen less expansive devices around, like at Walgreens, but not recently. ...
