Jim, I take requip 2mg and found the best working method is to take half a tablet at around 7pm and the other half at about 9pm. It helps cut the nausea, helps with the early evening symptoms, and gets going before the twitching starts. I do have the twitches in the afternoon when I am at work but t...

Thankyou Ann, I'll discuss the possibility of taking an opioid while trying to reduce, with the neuro. Are you willing to tell me what you are actually taking as medication at the moment if you are not on requip/miripex etc. If I recall from the threads correctly, I think maybe an opioid it all you ...

Ta, I read up on the Klonopin and thought it was pretty scary. but suppose they all are. Difficulty is that this neuro I am seeing is a private appt, i.e. a one off at a cost of £150 ($300) for a half hour, for an opinion, I wont get to see him again, unless under our health service which has very l...

Thanks Corrie Last night in desperation, I forgot about reducing the dose, took my prescribed 2mg requip, plus as a sleeping aid 6mg diazepam. I had a fabulous night's sleep (prob from built up exhaustian as well) slept from 10 pm to 7 am. The alarm woke me. I will see neuro. Then I may try reducing...

Thanks Micked, I've got a private appt with a Consultant Neurologist on 5 May, two and a half weeks away, a Saturday so I don't need time off work. It will cost £150 ($300) for a half hour consultation. It remains to be seen if this will be worth while. In the meantime I reckon I will tonight take a...

Thanks for your quick comment. It helps to hear from someone who knows 'what you mean', I do have some codeine 15mg, just a few, which I had to plead for a couple of months ago for a long air journey. I also have codydramol (don't know what you call it in US) but it is paracaetamol with 8mg codeine....

Well... I went back to bed at about 3.45 am... and immediately the twitches started so I went into the spare room where I could thrash about and disturb only myself. My legs were ok (no idea why), it was my arms and hands that were so bad. I was feeling pretty sorry for myself and had a few tears. T...

On the subject of reducing requip. I have been on 2 mg for about 5 months. Haviing read so much about the side effects, and also finding that altho I was sleeping at night (more or less), I found the symptoms to be more frequent during the day. So, I got the restless legs oil, and started using it a...

Hey folks, sounds like things are getting a little 'tetchy' here!! I have got the oil, I am trying it, it is NOT a miracle cure but I will use the bottle and let you know my opinion at the end. In the meantime I am trying to reduce the requip and am down from 2 mg to 1.5 mg or thereabouts, hard to t...

Hi Deb, I agree with all that you are saying, i.e. that I am prob dependent on the Requip. But my prob is that even with the oil, my legs at bedtime last night were twitching so badly, and I had put the oil on at least an hour previously. It is near my afternoon 'session' so I will go now and put on...

Thanks jbcole, for your encouragement. I can't say that I felt any benefits from the oil today, however I have every intention of giving it a fair trial. Please tell me from your own experience, at what point did you stop the requip, if the oil took a week to give good effect. Also did you use the o...
