Re: Let's Talk Table Tennis

I grew up in a house with a table in a long narrow sun porch. Needless to say, we had a lot of unique rules. There was a fairly low light with a big glass shade above the middle. Hitting it was called “ringing the doorbell”. Cousins and small children loved playing our version of table tennis. :mrg...

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

You have to be SO tired to fall asleep glass of milk in hand. As when I fall to sleep in a yoga pose - we are just not meant to be that tired, yet here we all are! Hope you settle in to the new meds soon. I have a new one added recently and was a bit worried about it - for bladder urgency. But it ac...

Re: Hot Tub?

We have both a sauna and a hot tub in our new condo building. Both are technically closed from 10 PM to 8 AM, but if I were quiet, no one would here me...the question is whether security would see me and the answer is affirmative. My guess is I'd be kicked out. Seems so silly.

Re: Story on Opioids

Stewart quickly noticed suspicion not just among doctors but among friends and relatives, too. Did he really hurt that badly? Had he tried exercise? What about Advil? Maybe he just needed more rest. Sound familiar? Telling her staff that she was closing the pain clinic, she had said, “I will be sho...

Re: Story on Opioids

I just wish that pendulum with start swinging back...but I have a feeling it hasn't even reached the far right, yet. I was telling husband today that I've just been having such a hard time the last few weeks with a minor funk. Right now it seems the cyclical stuff we go through, but I asked him to k...

Story on Opioids

Very hard to read from an emotional perspective.

Re: What Calms You in the Night?

These last couple of nights/mornings I gave up on the calming. Two mornings ago I did some ironing starting at 4.30 am. This morning I was making an old fashioned (from the 70s) pudding that I remembered, using ginger snap biscuits, tinned crushed pineapple, cream and sherry. It was assembled and i...

That shuts them all up pretty damn quick, as they now fear you are about to go barmy on them.

Re: Introducing myself

Thanks very much for the suggestion, Ann. Will contact Dr. Buchfuhrer. I was rather surprised/confused/stunned/dismayed/all-of-the-above myself at the proposed withdrawal schedule. Happy to share - mostly hope it helps. Tapers are usually not much fun and doing it for weeks sounds like abject misery!

Re: Introducing myself

Jim - seems to me that the taper is very long. Some doctors suggest a moderate taper, some just have you stop if your dose of pramipexole is relatively low - for example less than 1 mg. or stop when you reach 1 mg. Dr Buchfuhrer is one who rarely suggests a taper - when he does, he does it every 3 d...
