Re: A question about dopamine agonist withdrawal

I think there isn't so much a need for a withdrawal process than it happens anyway, at least with augmentation. Your body it used to it and when you take it away, your body reacts violently. When augmentation happens, you already have worsened symptoms, caused by the dopamine agonist. Stopping it se...

Re: Need Sleep

Having supportive people around - so nice to hear you have them - and a supportive PA is almost indescribably wonderful.

My - sounds like you have definitely had your share of pain issues.

Re: Camping

Betty and 2BassetMom, your stories reminded me of a few of my camping experiences. Thankfully, I'd had others that were good prior or I'd never have tried again, either! The first was in Wyoming in March. It's COLD in the Wyoming mountains in March! We were the ONLY people in the entire park; it was...

Re: Need Sleep

How long have you been taking the opioid? I wonder if it is tolerance...I muse about that because I am one of the few here who suffers from it.

Re: Gluten Sensitivity and RLS

We've long known that celiac causes low iron and low iron causes RLS. I often suggest to our members who have gut and other issues that cannot be easily pinned to something else to have a test! As far as I know, there isn't any research to show any other connection other than the low iron. This stud...

Re: 15 years is way too long

Sounds like you have been going thu what i am going thu everyday for quite some time. My hats off to you and others that have found the strength to do it day in and day out. I feel like a whimpering baby for even complaining. One day is enough to make any of us whimper! And, that is what this place...

Sometimes I am AMAZED that my husband hasn't kicked me to the curb. All of this takes a LOT of emotional fortitude and sometimes it's just not there.

Re: 15 years is way too long

What medications are you able to take? I have tried many - settled on opioids after severe and long augmentation. I am currently going off, however, because of tolerance. Most of us don't have tolerance, but I do. So, the 10 mg becomes 15 which becomes 20, which...and then I freak out (as does my d...

Welcome to gbrown

22 July, Sunday

gbrown has had RLS for about 15 years and it's getting worse, so will be going to see a doctor soon.

We hope that helps; there is a lot of good info here to help you prepare.

Re: 15 years is way too long

it follows a circadian rhythm and is worse between 7 or 8 PM and 2-3 AM. Of course, some of us have it most of the day (or all of it), but it's always the worse at night. I am squirming in my chair (5 PM PDT), but can still sit and type. By 8 or 9 I will have to stand and my midnight I won't be able...

Re: 15 years is way too long

What i don't quite understand is even tho i am sleep deprived during the day. I can control my symptoms easily. Last night i had taken some kratom around 10 pm and everything was going well even tho i was very tired. I was just starting to get my hopes up that maybe i would sleep. Then around midni...

A lot of us who were first on a DA find that gabapentin didn't work next. I have no idea it's because it just isn't for everyone or if the DAs cause changes in our brain chemistry that prevent it from doing do. Stopping was the hardest thing I've done. I know how horrible you are feeling. The only c...

Re: Niacin 100mg.

No, not during the day, only starts during that "twilight " time falling asleep, and upon awakening. That is, if I can ever get to sleep. I don't know what happens when I finally fall asleep. As I am single. At times I pace around the house then go back to bed. Whe worse times is when it ...

Re: 15 years is way too long

I have been on ropinirol for at least 15 years. After reading the info on this site i realized that i needed to get off this stuff. Finally got up the courage last night. All i can say is wow. Even with opioids i only managed 2 hours sleep last night and tonight is even worse. My legs were even dri...
