Susan, I thought I would share this with you. This morning I woke up around 5 AM, with every joint in my body hurting, it was not long before it started thundering and a rain storm moved in. I guess the arthritis is getting worse with me. I got up and was going to take half a hydrocodone and by the ...

I tried the Kava Kava pills along time ago and they actually work for a short time. Those you can buy in most stores, even Walmart use to have it.

Donna,
Do you know that most all antihistimes are known to make rls worse? Have you always taken Chloretrimeton, if so you might wish to stop it for awhile and just see if that will lessen your rls.

I have taken Claritin for years and its never affected my rls, just do not take Claritin D. It seems the ones with the Decongestion will make your rls worse. I did try zyrtec and it really set my legs off. Benedryl will also and almost all the OtC antihistimine meds increase my rls. You can test the...

I have a suggestion that might be helpful. Why dont you post on the chat board the time and nights that you will be chatting. That way if anyone should drift onto the chat site during the day, they would know to come back at a certain time/night when others are there.

Just a suggestion.

Estelia, What you need to know is RLS has been around forever, but only in the last few years have Drs begin to acknowledge it as a real illness. Most of us have had this all our lives and like you went to Dr after Dr, never finding one that understood our problem. I am 61 have had rls all my life e...

Sorry I should not have come down on the Parkinson meds, as I know some of you do well on them, but it just seems lately that I have read so many post of those having extreme difficulties on them. I should not even express my views on these meds as I have never tried them. I have no reason why I fee...

It seems I am one of the very lucky ones on this board because my Drs both agree that they would rather me take hydrocodone(pain med) than the other meds suggested for RLS. I have to go back to the Dr every 3 mos for refills, and am only given 30 pills per month, but that is ok with me! I also have ...

So now they have a starter pack for RLS in both Mirapex and requip? Wow I didnt know that. I think the RLS foundation should be working with the manufactor of these meds, and help write the instruction pamplet. How much time would it take to just state start out at a very low dose and increase as ne...

First let me say I have never taking Mirapex or requip or any of the Parkinson meds. I do see so many who post here that are taking these meds, talking about the recommended dose. My question is this the dose that is recommended in the pamplet of these meds? If so I think you should research these m...

I once watch a show with Michael J. Fox talking about his Parkinsons. The med he was using was Sinemet(Carbo-Lev) he talked about how this med would cause his body to really jerk if he got to much into his system and how hard it was to get just the amount of med to stop the shaking without getting t...

Cherry, I would call my Dr and ask if the dose he suggest is for Parkinsons or RLS. In the world of RLS its a known fact that RLSer's usually always use alot less of these meds than those with parkinsons. First I would read everything that I could possibly read about RLS and the meds used to treat i...

Living in a small town I can tell you I think its harder to get a Dr to prescribe narcotic pain meds. I think when Drs are checked for the amount of prescriptions they write for narcotic pain meds, the ratio can look really outragious in a small Drs office. We had a Dr in our town that lost his medi...

I too have had RLS all my life, inherited from grandmother and mother. While I spent years living on 2-4 hrs of sleep each night, and while this was during the time I was raising my family I have to say, I was tired all the time, but never felt helpless or worthless. I would get really upset at nigh...
