Motion-Sickness Meds
I have a WED/RLS Foundation card advising me what medicines to be very, very cautious with and what should be safe. I wanted to hear from you what medication you take if you need it for motion-sickness?

Re: neupro patch
I mentioned the Neupro patch and my neurologist just dismissed it with "It's very expensive". For those using the patch, how much does it cost per month. I am on a Medicare Prescription Insurance and usually have to pay a portion on any prescription. Does anyone know how much of the total ...

Re: Requip
I talked with my pharmacist and he said it was okay to split this particular pill. I know they are saying only 1 mg of Ropinirole, but my neurologist didn't seem concerned. I usually tolerate medicine very well. But, wish there was something better. I do see that some people take much more Ropinrole...

Re: Requip
Well, now I'm really confused. I take 3 1/2 mg Ropinirole spread out over the day. I take 1/2 mg at 10:45, 1/2 mg at 1:45, 1/2 mg at 4:45 and then 2 mg at 8:30 in the evening. These pills are not scored and I've been using a pill cuter to score them (each pill is 1 mg). Yikes....am I not supposed to...

Re: Pain?
Thanks Rustsmith, but I am on Medicare. Last year I reached the donut hole, primarily because I was on prescription Nexium. When they figure the amount that puts you in the donut hole, Medicare counts what they pay, what discount they get and what you pay. I also had a virus last year. I'm really no...

Re: Pain?
I indicated to the Neurologist the fact that I didn't want to take any more medicine than necessary. At my last appointment, he said, well, I'll see you in a year unless you feel you need to come sooner. But, I said I can cope and I don't see that I am suffering as much as many posters. He really ne...

Re: Pain?
ViewsAskew. Yes, originally my regular doctor put me on 1/2 mg Ropinirole and then (I think) 1. When he couldn't help me, he sent me to the Neurologist and he gradually increased it to 3 1/2. I know it is dangerous to stop these drug at once. Maybe if I try to back down the dosage 1/2 mg for a week ...

Re: Clonazepam
My Neuro gave it to me (1/2 mg) to use along with 2 mg Ropinrole at night to relax enough to go to sleep. I'm not sure, if it does that much; but, I do usually get 4 or 5 hours of sleep before I get up to go to the bathroom and then go back to sleep another 2-3 hours. Some nights, it still takes awh...

Re: Pain?
Polar Bear, I agree. A non-sufferer just has no idea how awful this is. My son said once, "Just don't think about it". And, I've had people say, "Oh, I have those restless legs once-in-awhile". Somehow I don't think they probably have the real WED. You're right, it is a different...

Pain?
For those who have pain with their WED/RLS, where and what type. I have been having a lot of muscle pain in my legs and a little in my arms. It could be a number of things. (a) WED/RLS (b) medication I'm taking--I take Repinirole 3.5 mg spread out over the day 1/2 mg Clonazepam at night. (c) I have ...

Flying
I will be taking a somewhat lengthy plane trip soon and would like any tips on what helps keep WED from flaring up. I have flown before, the longest period being 3 1/2 hours and did not experience too much trouble. However, one leg of my trip will be a little over 5 hours with an hour layover and th...

Re: Just got my appointment notice with a Neurologist
Well, I finally saw the neurologist. He did blood work for Ferritin levels, B-12 defeciency and thyroid. He also increased my Ropinorole to another .5 in the morning and 1.5 at night instead of 1 (in addition to the .5, I take at noon). Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Chewing gum
I don't know if this would help anyone, but I'll throw it out there. I have found that chewing gum, at the very start of the RLS sometimes helps. I don't know if that's my imagination or what. It doesn't solve it, but seems to help.
