Re: What do you do?

On a good night I'm up for one-third of the night. On a really bad night it could be half the night. I can't possible sit or lie down during my awake periods. Once my symptoms have abated and I'm very tired I can go back to bed and usually fall asleep in a few minutes. I read, walk, read while walki...

Re: Transitioning

Yes, I was on ropinerole for years. I started to augment when I got to .375mg (one and a half tablets). Luckily for me I was a member of RLS.org and became aware of augmentation so I cut back until I was off it completely. This took many years. I started taking 60mg of codeine then was able to go up...

Re: Transitioning

I've been taking 325mg of ferrograd® (dried ferrous sulfate) for years. Before taking it I started having symptoms in my arms but now I never do. I also take 1000mg gabapentin and 2 x 60mg of codeine eac night. My symptoms aren't usually too bad but I still need to be up for at for least two 1.25 to...

Re: Advice for Overnight Flight

My RLS is fairly severe (up for over an hour two or three times each night until legs settle down). I live in New Zealand and my family are all in Maryland so I have a 12 hour flight as well as another six. Tell the flight attendants that you have restless legs and might need to walk during the flig...

Re: Gabapentin Withdrawal

I'm on 1,000mg gabapentin and wanted to increase it. My GP said it could mess with my brain. I believed her and have stuck with 1,000mg at 7.45pm, going to bed around 10.30. It has helped me a lot. I also take two x 60mg codeine in split dose before bed and during the night. For the first time in de...

Placebo effect wouldn't work for me—I'm too much of a skeptic!

I'm always suspicious of too good to be true remedies. I wouldn't waste my money.

Re: Medications timing suggestions requested

Luckily for me (not for her) my PCP has restless legs. Maybe she can shed some light on dosage and timing.

Medications timing suggestions requested

Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted. Every time I wake up (usually two or three times each night) my legs have fairly severe painful sensations which means I need to stay up for 1.25 or 1.5 hours (or more) before it is "safe" to go back to bed. I am hoping that this can be alleviated by chan...

Re: Racial Subgroup and Ethnicity

So am I. Mostly English, Irish and French with a tiny bit of German blood.

A relative with 100% Irish ancestry who took a DNA test was told he was Scandinavian. Those Vikings got around!

Re: Whacha readin?

I don’t usually read psychological thrillers but loved “Every move you make” by Deborah Bee. Contemporary British fiction. Two sides to every story but only one is the truth. Another one I loved is “Dictionary of lost words” by Pip Williams. Esme, a small girl, spends her days in the Scriptorium whe...
