As long as it's RLS, the Requip should help, even if it has terrible side effects. If it's not helping and it's RLS, Nanasuep, you may not be taking enough, or at the right times. You do have to take Requip at least 60 minutes prior to RLS or it is not nearly as effective. Permax is a similar class ...

Nana, I recently read that while not all people can take the dopamine agonists (Mirapex, Requip, Permax, etc.) they do relieve RLS in everyone who takes them. the article went on to say that if a person is not helped by them, then they probably do not have RLS. Since it isn't helping you at all, is ...

Em, I'd have to think that it might not be RLS, not they I know what it could be. I have a strange sensation I've been getting for years; maybe this is the same. I feel like something is moving around on my head. For me, it's always my scalp, and it feels like bugs are moving around. It is maddening...

Requip does have a side effect of causing of insomnia . Side effects are so personal there is no knowing what will happen over time. You could try to take less - what happened when you took .25 mg? Same thing? If it doesn't cause insomnia at a lower dose, you could try that for a couple of weeks and...

Oh, Lyndarae, what a scary place to be. I second all that Hazel said. I wonder if the chemicals and smells have triggered the RLS? You don't have to answer any of these questions. I'm just throwing them out there. Is it possible that you are nervous about doing a good job and this is contributing to...

FreeSpirit, when you have RLS at night, normally you don't take meds during the day. It sounds to me, and I'm not a doc, that the meds are indeed causing part of the problem. Augmentation will resolve when you stop the meds. I would think part of the problem is that you were taking them when you did...

Laurie, as far as I know, there is nothing to preclude RLS being in your back. I have seen people on this and other boards who have it in their pelvic region, their neck, face, etc. I would say it's probably not as common--as Hazel said, it is most often legs, then arms. If the criteria apply and yo...

If you also want a general overview and how to manage RLS, along with links that support the information, please try this thread m While we work hard to make sure our links stay in working order, sometimes something changes and gets by us. That's a complicated situation. There could be different issues at work and how you treat them varies by physician. I'm not sure that there is a right or a wrong way, but I have definite views on them! (Which, of course, I am happy to share!) When you take many drugs, there is the risk of tolerance....

Dear Guest, this is a tough place to be! I wish we had lots of easy solutions, but we don't. Please look at the "sticky" post in the Special Populations section. In it, there are many posts that may offer some help. I'm not a doctor, but I seem to recall one of the RLS specialists saying the methado...

Laura, it is hard to stay supportive of someone when they are that self-destructive. It's hard to believe that they "can't" make better choices and to find empathy. You are so right about the fine line regarding enabling. She is lucky to have you. Have you heard of the book, "When Bad Things Happen ...

Laura, that is so hard, isn't it. To love someone so much and watch them destroying their life and body. Does she have other close family members? You could try a professional intervention and see if it works. My stepdad is an alcoholic. When my sister was about 12 and my brother about 7, my mom and...
