Emily, I'm taking hydromorphone right now. It comes in different forms but what i'm taking is 2mg dilaudid pills. The pills only come in 2 & 4 mg. I have built up a tolerance to hydrocodone so I switched to this for a little while to take a break from hydrocodone and hopefully get longer lasting...

Wow that's harsh Emily. You might want to ask her flat out why she advises you to educate yourself on RLS if she's not willing to treat you with proven methods that you know benefit you. Don't be afraid to back her into a corner. The worst that could happen is she wont treat you at all anymore. So y...

Dee, that's fantastic that you have such a good price. Good for you. I'm sure I could afford generic, I'd do whatever I had to. 100 bucks would be pretty brutal. I'll just have to see. Right now I just wish I could have some relief for a long enough duration, regardless of the cost.

Wow. Thanks for all the info. You guys are all really great. JOSH, I agree with you but my doctor is leary of prescribing me oxycontin. he hasn't abandoned me but I just don't think he's comfy with it. He keeps telling me "you don't wanna go down that road" which I understand but right now i'm on th...

Ann, Thanks for the insurance info. It may be helpful for lots of people. I'm currently unemployed so I'm trying to find a job that wont require me to wait too long for benefits. I'm located in Illinois. If anyone from Chicago reads this and knows of a regular physician who's knowledgable about RLS ...

Ann, Thank you for your concern and I'm with ya! The thing about my case is that I have been going to a podiatrist for years with foot problems. He is the only dr. I have a relationship at this time and I also am uninsured at the moment. I found rls, found out I have at least three relatives with it...

Fidget, My dr. told me also that dilaudid comes in 2 and 4 mg. However when I took the Rx to the pharmacy they told me the 2 mg pills were a "special" dose. No idea what they meant by that other than there is no generic available. I've been taking the dilaudid since my last post and 2 pills of 2mg e...

well it's 2mg of dilaudid so if your conversion is right it doesn't sound like it will help much. i've been taking two 5mg hydrocodone together so this would actually be less than that. My main objective was trying something different to get off the hydrocodone for a few days because i've probably g...

Well my dr. prescribed me Dilaudid. It's not sustaining release but I feel better about taking it than the hydrocodone since it has no acetimenophen in it. Anyone have any experience with dilaudid? What do you think of it? I got a very low dose. We'll see how it works along with the Lyrica. Is 2mg o...

Fidget, I have not tried Requip or any of the dopamine drugs yet. My deal is that I'm currently between jobs and uninsured. the Lyrica was a free sample. I went to the pharmacy and had them print out pricing for a months supply of both Lyrica and Requip and they were both very near $150. So the pric...

Fidget, I agree with you. I took oxycontin a long time ago for a foot problem and at the time, while my legs weren't real painful like they are now, it brought total relief to all the foot/leg discomfort I was having. The problem is finding a doctor who will prescribe it and it seems like asking for...

I have just begun taking Lyrica, hydrocodone, and a multi-vitamin with 100% daily value of b12, magnesium, Iron and Folate and all of these things have barely brought relief. The only thing that distinctly helps is the narcotic. The dosage is low though so it helps great for about an hour and then i...

Lyrica is an anticonvulsant and has extensively been researched as to it's effects on RLS. I am taking it exclusively (well only in conjunction with pain killers) for RLS and it's working moderately well. You can read about clinical tests done with Lyrica on RLS in the Medical Bulletin found in the ...
