RLS worsening after hip replacement

Hi! Thanks for your feedback regarding the worsening of my RLS after my hip replacement. I do put compression socks on before I go to bed. For the first 3 weeks after my surgery, I had to wear them 24 hours, however, now it's just at night. They don't seem to make that much difference. Maybe I need ...

Hip replacement surgery and worsening of RLS

I have had my right hip replaced about a month ago and I've had severe RLS about 25 years. Since I've had my hip replaced, however, my RLS has gotten quite a bit worse. I now have it almost 24/7. I have had to take 3 Tylenol/Codeine pills last night. in order to get any sleep. I woke up this morning...

Re: RLS meds and hip surgery

Hi Betty, I wish my hip surgery was over. It's scheduled for next Monday, 6/13. Thanks for telling me about the RLS Alert card. I'll take it along with me and make sure the medical staff that are caring for me see it and abide by it. I hope your knee is doing well. I hope that my hip surgery will go...

Mirapex - weight gain

Hi Betty, I can certainly relate to what you're going through with RLS and weight gain from the Mirapex. I've also gain about 40 pounds since I started taking Mirapex. I just wish that there was a new RLS drug available. I think one is in a clinical trail - Phase 2. It'll probably be some time befor...

Mirapex and weight gain

Hi! I overeat also. I think Mirapex can do that to you-increase your appetite. I'd like to get off of it too, however, I don't know what else I could take for my RLS relief. I've tried every medication and either couldn't tolerate the side effects or it didn't help any. What are you taking for your ...

Weight Gain from taking Mirapex

Hi!

I have been taking Mirapex for my RLS for about 8 years. I've gained about 30-35 pounds since then. Has anybody else who takes Mirapex gained any weight?

RLS in pelvic area

I've have severe RLS and the symptoms are mainly in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. I mentioned this to my RLS doctor and he asked me if I got any relief getting up and walking and I said yes so. He didn't elaborate on the subject. I assumed that if I got relief from getting up and walking it was RLS,...

RLS meds

Hi! What meds are you taking for your RLS? I take Mirapex and sometimes especially right before I go to bed, my RLS really acts up and I need to take a Tylenol/Codeine pill which gives me enough relief from the RLS to get to sleep. I sure hope and pray that a cure will be found for RLS someday, howe...

Magnesium for RLS?????

Hi! Actually, this gal that insisted magnesium was a cure for RLS told me that RLS is a disease of the nerves. I told her it's a neurological disease of the brain - chemical imbalance. She had no idea it was a neurological disease of the brain. I think that she thought I was talking about leg cramps...

Magnesium cure for RLS??????

Hi! After relating to everyone yesterday at our Easter Sunday dinner, a gal told me that magnesium would cure my RLS. I told her that I would need to discuss that with my doctor. Anybody have any opinions on the above. I would appreciate hearing them. I have severe RLS and I highly doubt that magnes...

Chinese herbs for RLS

Hi!

Thanks so much all of you for your positive supprt for not taking Chinse herbs for RLS. I do take other meds and the herbs could interfere with the effectiveness of the other meds and could have an adverse reaction which would be scary.

Cortisone injection & RLS

Hi! I have severe RLS and arthritis in my knees, low back and hip. I have n appointment with the Orthopedist next Tuesday. I'm pretty sure he's going to recommend that I have a cortisone injection. Has anyone had a cortisone injection? Did it affect your RLS negatively? Did you get a bad reaction? S...
