Re: Dipyridamole
My understanding is that most people are unaware of PLMS. But I semi wake up from many of my involuntary movements, attempt to go back to sleep and just as I cross over to sleep there’s another involuntary movement and I’m awake again although it’s not a full awakeness. This repeats for some time an...

Re: Dipyridamole
I have PLMS, and I also have RLS that’s mostly under control. I’m hoping Dipyridamole will improve my
PLMS. I’m very aware of my PLMS from the moment I start nodding off until morning. It’s constant and disrupts my sleep.

Re: Dipyridamole
Holland & Legsbestill, Thanks for the great feedback...I’m ready to start the experiment tonight at 50mg. I will just add it to my current regimen. The only medications I take are for RLS/PLMs. I had a sleep study at the most reputable hospital in the area and they diagnosed me as having PLMD (I...

Re: Dipyridamole
Holland, so glad to hear you’re feeling better. Yes, he gave me a prescription for 50mg (I thank my lucky stars for him, he’s an amazing doctor). We know in the study the dosage started at 100mg but he’s concerned about my sensitivity so wants me to start low. I picked up my prescription today and n...

Re: Dipyridamole
Holland & Legsbestill & anyone else, I hope your experiments with Dipyridamole are going well…I’m wondering if you’ve had any of the side effects associated with the use of this medication, and if so, did the side effect resolve over time? I spoke to my neurologist about Dipyridamole and he’...

Re: What Calms You in the Night?
When I was weaning myself off of lattes, I realized I needed something similiar so I could still achieve some feelings of comfort, so I switched to tea with milk. Had to be warm/hot and had to have some creaminess. Some good versions for nighttime are chamomile or lemon balm teas. There are lots of ...

Re: Calm Legs
2BassetMom (do you have basset hounds? cutest dogs!), I tried this product early on when symptoms first started and it did nothing for me. Interesting ingredients that Steve found and listed. I tried large amounts of Vit E and that worked for awhile but only during the time that my symptoms were ram...

Re: Levothyroxine, thryoid and is this why I'm so darn tired?
I was put on thyroid medication (levothyroxine & liothyronine) many years ago and I thought it would solve all my health problems but it didn’t. My numbers got into the acceptable ranges and I still felt crummy (anxiety, daytime fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, etc) but my doctor (considered one...

Re: RLS...featured in the New York Times!
Great article...showed the mainstream how RLS is one of those quiet illnesses that can affect anyone. Although I do feel a bit energy shamed by the guy that remodeled his basement during the night.

Re: Potassium Citrate
My update...I got a prescription from my doctor for 10mEq potassium citrate, filled it at my pharmacy, and took it for 45 days. While I was waiting for the prescription I started ramping up by taking 500-1000mg of OTC potassium citrate for 3 weeks. It took some time to get the prescription because m...

Deb, I’m the same way, if I do more physical activity in the day other than just normal walking around then I feel it in my hips as I try to sleep. Sitting in the car for long periods too. This is definitely keeping me from exercising. As you mentioned, changing the pressure on the hips does help, b...

Betty, it is a rollercoaster...the car slows down, more piles on, and the ride continues. Whoo hoo! Your taunting skinnier clothes comment made me laugh. I once heard someone suggest to throw out anything you haven’t worn in a year. So I got a large garbage bag and went for it. Except I couldn’t get...

And those who think they’ve experienced RLS just like you do...my 80 year old step father can sleep anywhere and at anytime like falling asleep in a metal outdoor patio chair at a Starbucks while cars and people go by and family members get drinks. He told me recently that he had horrible sleep like...

My husband tracks his sleep with the Apple watch and the AutoSleep app. He likes it and thinks it’s pretty accurate.
