Re: new diet
hmmm. Candida is the genus name for yeast, so Candida is yeast. Lots of babies get thrush, not all get WED; I wonder why.

Re: I have never slept so much.....
Me three on the 26-hr day! I've always been that way. But I was not always a night owl like you, rthom. That only happened sometime after the WED got bad. @cornelia, I didn't consider PLMs but it could be the culprit. I don't know what a good sleep is supposed to feel like anymore. (I Do know my day...

I have not noticed any correlation between my rare yeast infections and my persistent WED

That all sounds a bit like a horror story. What accident? (If you want to tell)

Re: I have never slept so much.....
@jy No, that's not it at all. No matter what work schedule I put myself on, my body reads the sun and says 'OK it's sleepy time', and it reads the darkness and says 'OK time to wake up'. Actually I have no idea what my body is reading, but that's the end result. My brain is half-asleep in the day - ...

Re: I have never slept so much.....
I am more on a second shift schedule -bed at 3-5 AM, awake at 10 AM to 1 PM most days. how I wish I could do that. My body wants to so badly. Or rather, it IS on that schedule, and I keep denying it. The way it flips back to that schedule despite my considerable efforts to re-set my clock probably ...

enjoy whatever sleep you can get! you know enough to not take it for granted! It's nice your family is being understanding; it's very hard for people who don't have the disorder to grasp its effects. I hope your sleep continues to improve.

Re: RLS-Gathering useful information from everybody…to you/u
Me too, and even after sleeping I will commonly wake up with sore muscles like I had worked them hard all night, from sleeping with them all tensed up. That must degrade the quality of sleep? unless it has become sub-conscious.

Re: first time on gabapentin--is this normal?
The DAs have been shown to stop PLMs but I'm not sure if gabapentin has been studied for that. Ann will probably know. It's so nice to sleep, isn't it! I hope this good stuff continues for you. Are the PLMs waking you up, or do you feel that you aren't sleeping as soundly as you could be? I wouldn't...

Wow, that's awesome Randy! Funny how a bit of good news in an ocean of pain can make the ocean shrink!

Re: books
OH I GET IT! Amazon has listed the authors in the wrong order! It's a great book, it's the one we were talking about above The book Restless Legs Syndrome by Hening, Allen, Chokroverty and Earley that corrie mentioned is indeed awesome. Not for the layman, so you might have to look up some terms, or...
