If you don't have an urge to move when you're having the spasms, it's probably not RLS. It really sounds like periodic limb movements in sleep and wakefulness. The dopamine agonist drugs are used to treat those, same drugs as are usually tried first for RLS. Lots of doctors are only vaguely aware of...
