Thanks all. I got 3 hours of restless sleep last night, and I went to my PCP and insisted I get an emergency referral to a neurologist. I will approach the neuro with all the drugs that have not worked, and the ones that have worked. Hopefully, the neuro will listen to me, and prescribe what I need,...

I didn't mean to imply that any other person should follow what you do, just that I want to try the same thing you are doing, as it seems to be my, and only mine, option for relief. Last night my symptoms wouldn't let me sleep for 4 hours. I finally took a half of a Permax that I have stashed away. ...

I agree with fidget boy. While trying to find new meds, I had fun with the vicodin. I actually abused it for the nice feeling. I have been on Percocet for 4 months, and have run out. I haven't had the urge to abuse it, and have used more than prescribed daily for extreme foot pain, which it helps im...

Still searching for relief.....
I have been suffering with RLS for over 20 years. As my nick suggests, I am a chef. I have to work 10-12 hours a day, up to 6 days a week. I have tried every shoe imaginable for comfort, and even change shoes several times during my shift. I never get the chance to sit down, so I having extreme foot...

Welcome Claire2! I hate that you have RLS, but this is a great place to be with a lot of great people. Feel free to rant, ask questions and even cry out, it's all ok, we understand. Another great site is www.rlshelp.org. Remember that you are not alone! Read all that you can here, and at rlshelp, ev...

Lynne, thank you for representing us RLSers. I have the creepy crawly type of RLS, or so I thought until I read this thread. I have had chronic foot pain for over 20 years, along with the creepy crawly sensations, but I always thought it was because of my profession as a chef and the constant standi...

That's awsome! I was looking into starting a support group where I'm at about 10 years ago, and the leading hospital sleep specialist said I should come to his speech about sleep disorders. So I thought that would be a great way to get some more information to pass out to prospective attendees. Afte...

Thank you all for the kind words, as a follow up, I went to drop the letter by on my way into work. The office was open, and I handed the letter to the receptionist, who, of course, had me wait while she listened to a co-workers tale of her sister's newborn. I was about to get mad, but she took the ...

Oh, that just steams me!!!! Have you looked at the Mayo Clinic Algorithm? It's in the Managing RLS "sticky" post in the New to RLS section. At any rate, it says that if you augment TWICE on DAs, you shouldn't use them any more. So, maybe a print out of that to the doc would be effective. Then again...

Hey all, pulling up an older thread I was on Sinemet for about 9 months before augmenting, then went to a combo of Permax and Xanax for about 8 years. I have been having daytime symptoms for several years, but didn't really consider that augmentation, although looking at it now I'm off of it, it was...

Good luck. As my nick suggests, I'm a chef, and I'm on my feet all day long. If my feet are hot, even if I'm standing, the rls kicks in. As soon as I get to my car, I take off my shoes. I have terrible foot pain all the time. I can't wear steel toes boots at all. (I also do some construction as well...

Chantix and RLS
I am a life long sufferer of rls, and tried to use Chantix to stop smoking with terrible results, so I wanted to warn people of it's actions. Most sufferers take domamine antagonists (hmm, no spell check) and Chantix actually blocks the receptors, so the da's don't work. I had no idea what was happe...
