Helen, I think this was a good thread and shows that we generally feel pretty much the same way. We need to be informative without irritating people, but on a personal level we want understanding and empathy but not pity or impatience. Yes, it is such a fine line between informing/complaining, and t...

I feel such a connection with this thread. For many years I have coped with rls 24/7 but (bit but !!) otherwise have had excellent health. 4 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Temporal Arteritis/GCA which was a medical emergency and started on a heavy daily dose of steroids which have worked well and th...

Thank you Mia- I would average Tramadol 3 x 50mg over the 24 hour period, together with my ropinerole.

I wish you a long and peaceful symptom relief.

Mia, that is great that you have been able to go from Methadone to Tramadol.

Out of interest, as I also use Tramadol (and Ropinerole), how much Tramadol daily do you use to have symptom relief.

Good for you that you continue to seek further relief from non pharm methods.

Hello Gaily and welcome to the discussion board. It's good that you are getting some relief from the Requip and can tell you that augmentation is something that is probably at the back of most of our minds. I try to put that thought on a back burner to worry about it if and when it happens. I feel f...

This particularly severe bout of insomnia would seem to be a side affect of the prednisone. So its sort of temporary/permanent for as long as I'm on a dose that's high enough to cause the side affect. At the minute something stronger every 3rd or 4th night would be like winning the lotter. Thanks al...

After having seen in middle of the night by emergency doc a dew weeks ago, it was Dr M who picked up the pieces the following morning, got bloods done and started me on steroid and whom I have been a...

Sleep

Although this is about sleep it is not about rls diffs. I have been on 50 mg daily predisone for over 3 weeks, hopefully if my next bloods are ok the doc will start to slowly reduce. However one of the side affects is insomnia..... just the last thing I need, I already have diffs and have been worki...

My keyboard problems are cookie crumbs and crunchy nut cornflakes from my random yo-yo computer visits during the night. A paintbrush..... good one.... I had tried a toothbrush and found it a bit coarse. (potting soil ?? - do I recall that you propagate african violets) I really like them, think I m...

Betty, I know what you mean, I'm not as agile as I was, hence the car only being cleaned after 6 months. The car is little, and I am not. You get the picture. However, as I am now on a steroid (hopefully not for much longer or I will be even bigger) it appears to have the added benefit of relieving ...

Lexique..... the bathtub also sets off my symptoms, I cannot bear to have anything on my lap for any length of time. It is said that stroking a pet (cat) is therapeutic - not if it is on my lap, it's not !! The thought of wearing tights on my legs makes me want to scream. Distraction techniques don'...

Boring - but very handy hint

Today I took the bull by the horns and decided to wash/ valet my car, hasn't been cleaned in the 6 months since I bought it new. That is not as bad as it sounds as it is not the main car and doesn't do a lot of miles etc. You know how it is..... there are always those narrow channels where the nozzl...
