Jumpy very nicely copied the short version of the algorithm. There is a longer version as Trev posted and it contains some very useful notes about each of these drugs, how to take them, etc. This part is great to see what drugs to try based on your symptoms. The other part is great to read for findi...

Walking, I got that same packet! To me, the problem is that doctors don't always know best about this because it's new to them, too. I posted average doses of DAs that worked in several studies. It is in the Welcome All Newcomers sticky in the New to RLS? section of the board. Can't remember the det...

Yeah, but they only wear the stockings for a few days. I'm not saying the stockings don't help, but in this case, it is not related to them. There are a lot of people who love pressure on their legs for RLS, but there a lot of others that cannot tolerate any pressure at all without instant RLS. Seem...

Jumpy is right. The narcotics are proven to help RLS. As I understand it, there is no firm proof that Clonazepam does. I've read conflicting information - originally they said it did, but now they think it doesn't help as much as they thought. The other thing is the RLS often worsens temporarily whe...

Alisha, here's the little I know. The generic name is lorazepam so you could try searching on that, too. It is a benzo used to control anxiety, so it probably is relaxing. It may help you fall asleep, but probably will not control the RLS or PLMD. Go here for more information about drugs used to tre...

Oh, Hazel, I wish I didn't understand a word of what you said. But I do. And, all too well. It is so nice to feel well, I may just sit here and cry about it for a minute. It's not you, it's the doctor. I've had that same doctor. Different name, different location, but the same exact one. In the begi...

Hmmm, I'd be hard pressed to stick with it, too, Becat. Jan had trouble, it's listed as something not to take, there are the side effects, you didn't sleep well, you feel more pain today. This is such a sticky area where you have to decide to listen to your gut or your doctor's logic, but aren't sur...

For anyone that experiences nausea when taking a DA, I've heard of people doing several things that they say helped them. Most people also say that the nausea disappears within 2 weeks. -Take your dose with food. -Take very small doses to start. For example, if you are new to DAs, take only .125 of ...

Hi Jamie, So sorry you are having a rough time. Hopefully eventually you'll be in a much better place, and soon. We're all so different that it is hard to give any specific advice until we know the particulars of your situation. Can you tell us how often you have it? What is feels like? Is it daily,...

Hi Crackie, Becat's good about getting people here. Just a note to say welcome - I don't know much about Permax or switching from it. I do know that people switching from Mirapex to Requip can start Requip at the equivalent dose. Were you able to do that with Permax? Or did you have to start at the ...

How's school? Sounds like you are a little stressed maybe? Or maybe I am reading into your post. Hope it is well, even if hectic. When Jamie gets here, all the warm welcoming people will treat her well.

Today is a good day because I am loved and I am able to love. On a completely different note, today is a great day because I pick up the keys to my new glass studio! It is in the basement of a large building containing an art gallery and many others in the art world. My space is beautiful and includ...

Thank you so much, all of you, for being here and sharing your feelings, thoughts, hopes and dreams. Through adversity can come growth and postitive change, as witnessed by all of you. When we are in it, it can be hard to see how things are changing or that there is a way out. We can choose to ignor...

I've seen it mentioned in a few places. Might be that the Mayo algorithm even mentions it. But, I've not tried it. I do have them, but they are not terrible. I doubt my insurance would cover it! I was just thinking about it yesterday, though.
