Re: Augmentation or something else

How much ropinerole did you take before? Did it work?
I don't even recall. The ropinirole was 8 or 10 years ago. It worked for awhile, maybe two weeks, and then I went back on the hydrocodone which worked well for me until I weaned myself off of it in favor of Kratom.

Re: Augmentation or something else

How much pramipexole do I take as I experiment? Last December my doctor ordered me a prescription of .5 mg after my telling him about my RLS. He didn't even tell me he was prescribing it. The pharmacy called me one day and there it was! I think he just looked up the protocols on the computer and wen...

Re: Augmentation or something else

Thank you for your response. I am in the USA and I do have Medicare. My understanding from reading other posts is that iron infusion is not covered by Medicare, but I will check more closely. Don't know about going cold turkey. There is nothing I could do but rely on the hydrocodone while I was off ...

Augmentation or something else

I had been handling RLS successfully with only hydrocodone for several years and after getting off the several regimens of DA’s out there. Then I discovered Kratom and in 2017 I weaned myself off of the hydrocodone and was doing quite well with the Kratom, even though it was a bit more expensive. St...

Re: Reading results of Iron Bloodwork

My neurologist was agreeable to iron infusions bc I had augmented on ropinirole; Neupro patch gave me bad rashes; so the next route was methadone, which I understand is a procedural headache for the neurologist's office. Until my insurance approves infusions I am holding things at bay with hydrocod...

Re: Augmentation or weak Kratom??

Badnights You really need to see about your iron status. Taking iron (oral or infusion) might solve your WED/RLS problems, or change them from severe to mild. You would have to be careful not to take oral iron at the same time as the levo. I got my own blood draw for iron a month ago because I could...

Re: Reading results of Iron Bloodwork

Thank you, Holland, I was wondering if most insurances cover this type of infusion? I checked the Injectefer site and unless my insurance covers most of the cost then I really can't afford it. I am a retired person on a fixed income and their charges are simply out of the question at this stage. Bet...

Re: Where do I buy Kratom and is it safe?

I have had good results with kratom use. Currently I am combining its use with hydrocodone. I get from Kat's Botanicals and Mystic Island. I used the Red Vein Borneo type for many years with good success. Lately I have been using Green Malay which I also like.

Reading results of Iron Bloodwork

Hi, Because my next scheduled appointment with my doctor isn't for two months I decided to order my own ferritin bloodwork. I would appreciate help and suggestions for Iron supplementation based on results. Iron, TIBC and Ferritin Panel 1. Total Iron: 61 mcg/dL (50-180 desired range) 2. Iron Binding...

Re: Augmentation or weak Kratom??

update: the pramipexole did not work out. Even dividing the 50mg tabs into four didn't bring relief. I eventually upped the dose, felt a bit nauseous and then read that it could bring about syncope with which I was diagnosed 15 years ago. Currently take fludrocortisone and attacks are rare. Maybe on...

Re: Topical gel Diclofenac

I have been splitting one tab of Zolp in half nightly for years. It helps me to fall asleep and get back to sleep if I awaken. My RLS is more a nuisance during late afternoon and early evening. Before bed I take 2-1/2 tsp of Kratom. I then take a 1/2 tsp booster around 3 am and that gets me thru the...

Re: Topical gel Diclofenac

Betty, Thanks for your follow-up concerns. When I started having difficulties with the Kratom I tried to get some hydrocodone from the Doc, but as I already take Zolpidem he said he couldn't prescribe two class 1 drugs. That is when he prescribed the Pramipexole and what I think he did was go in the...

Re: Topical gel Diclofenac

I should have stated that the relief of symptoms was coincident with applying the gel. Didn't mean to imply a causal connection. I certainly hope the gel's supposed relief of RLS symptoms is not short-lived. But this I will say, it is a great relief for my arthritis!

Re: Topical Voltaren (Gel)

This week my doc prescribed diclofenac gel for my knees (arthritis) and I was surprised to find it alleviated the RLS to a great degree. I only just found out that doclofenac is now available over-the-counter and goes by the name of Volteran.

Re: Topical gel Diclofenac

To answer Betty. I used hydrocodone for 10 years and then in 2017 discovered Kratom. Weaned myself off the lortab. Though I cant be certain I may have built up tolerance. It has only been in the past six months that I have had to vastly up the dose of Kratom. Until then then the usual doses have wor...
