Re: Gabapentin, cough and husky voice

I never experienced a cough or voice change. Just vertigo and lethargy at the start. Both had passed within a week.

Re: Nitrous Oxide

Oooo, I dislike that drug! Made me paranoid and freaked me out. Never went back to that dentist just because I was so miserable using the drug. I know many people really like it. I know the feeling! As a teenager I was given gas at the dentist and it made me sick. Threw up in the dentist's trash ca...

Re: WED and summer

I don't notice any difference either. I prefer summer though just because I can wear lighter clothing.

I like that word "gremlins" to describe it. I'm going to start using it for the rare time I have to describe it to someone other than a doctor. Hope you don't mind.

Re: Have the energy....

Just post a single sentence saying none of it is true, don't rant, insult, or flame as that will just draw more attention to it and that's not what you want, and don't reply to any responses. It would be much better if you could get a real doctor to respond to it, but it's pointless because on the i...

I was on antibiotics a few months back for a tooth infection. No effect on the RLS.

Re: exercise?

I think it helps but it doesn't make my RLS go away. Lately I've been doing 30-40 minutes a night on my exercise bike, it's one that will vary the resistance as you ride depending on the level you set. When I'm done I've broken a light sweat. Once I catch my breath and walk around a bit, maybe stret...

Re: WED and general health

I've had teeth problems long before the RLS started. Starting in my teens, I always had cavities despite regular brushing and flossing. In my twenties, more cavities, a crown or two, my thirties, root canals, more crowns, an extraction. and in my forties (I'm 47) now I have had two implants on which...

Re: What do you think people did with RLS before medications

yes, a good doctor is a blessing, and hard to find. Lucky to have one. Is he at a clinic, and they will replace him? if so, the replacement will likely read up on the diseases he is inheriting. Of course, that's no guarantee that he'll be astute at dealing with new developments. He's part of a priv...

Re: What do you think people did with RLS before medications

I thought I was going crazy the first month the RLS came full on, sleep deprivation and never ending {insert your description of leg sensations here} had me climbing the walls. Finally went to see my doctor (GP) and told him what I was experiencing thinking it sounded crazy as I was describing it. I...

Re: Augmentation--and vision problems

does your vision change radically too? No i don't have glasses but am aware that i need reading glasses--was a bit of a prob before and is more so now. But these are two different things for me. No, not radically, but they have been declining. A bit of advice, get the prescription glasses. The read...

Re: Augmentation--and vision problems

Do you wear glasses or contacts now to see? Otherwise. It could just be the normal aging process. Just before my RLS took hold and I started taking meds. I had to get reading glasses. The optometrist told me nothing was wrong with my eyes. I was just at that age where most people start needing glass...

Re: Magnesium Salts...your experience??

Okay, clonazepam down. I know some people think I'm crazy for trying to get off Methadone -- even Dr. B questioned that. Some said why don't I just take it the rest of my life. But it presents many problems for me, even though it helps my symptoms for a few hours. And I think my body wants more and...

The problem was indeed that anything in came immediately out, Wayne. They say if you managed to keep it down for 30 minutes, you're OK regarding medication. Because meds are so tightly controlled and because sips of water set off a new round, I didn't want to risk it. I do keep a small stash that I...
