Mia--this is too coincidental. I'm glad you shared your experience. As Views Askew said, any of the RLS drugs change our brain chemistry. Personally as I've ramped up the dose these past few weeks I've felt more depressed, sleepy/drugged (not in a good/happy way) and decided to decrease to .5 and st...

Honestly, for me, EXACTLY like benzos. Same 'not a care in the world' feeling. Also get the munchies but fortunately something I can control. Then the next day feel slightly drugged. I know what you mean about tolerance. Also I don't mind the opiate side effects. If I ever get on them for RLS, I'd o...

Requip feels like benzos to me
I've gradually increased my Requip dosage to .75. At this strength the immediate effect & the next-day hangover feel exactly like benzos did to me. Funny how we're all unique. I know benzos are addictive but I hate how they make me feel. Just an observation.

Good to know it isn't as big a deal as I thought. My dad has chronic pain and there's always an issue receiving 'schedule II vs. schedule III' drugs. Sad that it even matters for a patient like him. Anyway from an patient access/convenience perspective, isn't sch III better because these drugs can b...

I am so sorry for everything you are enduring. This is the place to vent/have a pity-party and I believe yours is well-deserved. I am such a wimp I can barely survive a cold, so I really give you credit for keeping at it. If you like to read I just saw a feature on what seems a great book called "St...

Campaign to make hydrocodone schedule II
I was researching the side effects of vicodin and ended up on the DEA's website. Under the hydrocodone heading there was mention that the DEA is working to better control it, and this is one way they're looking to do it. Not to cause panic or alarm, I just know some of you are on it long-term and ma...

Can Requip cause depression?
I take Wellbutrin for depression and it's worked perfectly for years. So perfectly I tend to be overly optimistic. I started .25 mg of Requip 4 nights ago and the past 2 days I've barely been able to get myself out of bed (b/c I feel so low). Side note--after my 1st night on Requip I had ravenous hu...

You guys are awesome! Hard to believe a person can spend all those yrs in med school and be so clueless. Here's what kills me. Why would any of us manufacture a condition as crazy-sounding as RLS? What would we gain from taking Parkinson's meds, which have many nasty side effects? I get why people t...

Requip hunger/frustration/opiates vent
I decided to start .25 initial dose of Requip last night b/c I just can't take it anymore (was trying to modify diet, increase iron etc) Biggest fear was weight gain/augmentation which I'd read so much about on these boards. So after one lousy small dose last night, I could eat anything that isn't n...

Cleve Clinic RLS specialist, Dr. Walter
I am happy to report Dr. Benjamin Walter seems to be an excellent doc! Normally when I see a doc for myself, 3 kids, or with an elderly relative we are ushered in and out within minutes. So you can understand why I wasn't expecting much from my appointment. Dr. Walter and his assistant took an hour ...

I'll be sure to let you know all about the visit. I am counting the days, my RLS has been so bad lately; if he's condescending/poor communicator, I'll be despairing. I'm a pretty assertive gal, so I will ask him what/why he's charging me for the visit if I feel it was a waste of time. I don't care h...
