Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Question...... The first week you are off DA's is horrible because of withdrawl. The second and third week are okay because you leveling out and your body and brain are going through changes. Now that I am in week four to five I am noticing the return of my WED with a vengeance. Is this a continuati...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

I am so suprised at how much less severe my WED is. Today starts my 3rd week of being pramipexole free. I hurt less, I sleep better, I eat less, and the swelling in my feet is way down. I would have never guessed my miracle drug would end up causing me such misery. My doctors office is mailing me th...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

I take 10 mg of oxy at night (around 9:30) with my evening meds and I am usually up until midnight then I sleep off and on until alarm goes off at 5:15. The problem is, at work, between 8 am and 11am I am falling asleep at my desk. I am fine in the afternoon. Today I decided to take my evening meds ...

Re: Pramipexole

I did some research on Celexa. It affects your REM sleep and the amount of time it takes you to get there and how long you stay there, which would contribute to your tiredness. Also, it causes an increase in yawning. Both medications can lower your blood pressure, which will also make you feel tired.

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

If pramipexole was a person it would be JR Ewing. Comforting when all is well, a strong adversary when you augment, and a downright force to be recond with when you want to walk away. Saturday I was able to get some rest, Sunday night I got some real sleep for the first time in months. I was so look...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Thank you!! I had an amazing support system. I finally got some sleep last night, yahoo Is there more than one doctor at the clinic? If so, try asking their nurses if any of the doctors have patients with RLS/WED? If you can find a doctor that is familiar with it, maybe he/she will already have a pa...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Wow. My first pramipexole free week is in the books. I called the doc yesterday to get something I could take for pain during the day and for all the manic behaviors. Tramadol and Topamax have now been added. I had a rough night. I felt like I was floating between conscious and unconscious for most ...

Re: Zoloft contribute to RLS?

Like Polar, I also lucked into a new GP who was willing to accept the information I offered her. She is 100X more knowledgable than my former neurologist and alot more willing to listen and think outside the box when treating me. She admitted to knowing about WED and having patients who have the gar...

Re: Anyone using Neupro?

I was on Mirapex (generic) for 12 years. I tried Neupro. The dose that controlled my symptoms, 6mg, made me nauseous and caused my heart to race, so I had to go back to Mirapex.

Im glad it works for you. Constipation is a small price to pay for sleep and calm legs and arms.

Keep us posted!!!

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Day 6 dawns. I have a sinus infection and my jaw is killing me. I know that is also contributing to the fatigue factor. I slept 4.5 straight hours, which was nice, but I am still so tired. I can't take off work right now. Too much going on. I took a nap during lunch yesterday. I slept 40 min before ...

Thanks Deb,

One of my coworkers told me I looked hungover.

Lol. I feel like I have been run over by a bus.

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Thanks guys,

My doctor is out of town until tomorrow, so I will have to make do until then. I doubt I could take the Oxys at work, especially on so little sleep.

I may have to take a nap during my lunch hour. It won't be the first time. I don't like doing it; but, it is what it is.

Rest well

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Thanks Deb, i dont mean to sound bitchy, so PLEASE dont take this personally. There is No good work about it. This crap is horrible. Dr.B said my oxy should be up to 5 to 10 mg three times a day to avoid the psychological side effects, and, based on the dose I was on, it could take weeks or months f...

Re: Pramipexole and serious side effects

Day 4 is over. Tried not to nap today, but fatigue took over and I took some involuntary cat naps. My heart rate continues to be elevated, perhaps due to the anxiety. I emailed Dr.B today to ask about some of my mental concerns since I am my doctors first case of augmentation and withdrawl. I hope t...
