Well I took Alavert-D 12 hour and although it hasn't bothered me, I'm not sure it's helped either. That's just me of course.

Interesting Mark. What medication do you take instead of Sinement (sp?) (if you don't mind my asking).

Thank you ViewsAskew, I have been considering the idea of augmentation, but I may have misstated this earlier. After starting Mirapex, the movement during the day was significantly better. After a couple of months, the movement returned, but I wouldn't say it is anywhere near the severity it origina...

Hi Ctravel,

Your idea is exactly what I've been doing. I've lowered it to .75 instead of .5 because like you, I feel that is too big of a jump down. I guess in about a week, I'll lower it to .5 and if I get back into a really restless state at night, I'll see if I can go back up.

Zach,

You are lucky at that. I guess I won't know until I try something. I'll also ask my neurologist what she thinks. Surely, this isn't a new question.

I see that most posts indicate not to take an allergy med. with a decongestant, but if the stuffiness, headaches, etc. are the problem and you need a decongestant, surely there is something we can take. Maybe I'm just dreaming. We have some Zyrtec-D, and I'm tempted, but don't want to bouncing off t...

Thank you ViewsAskew and Ctravel. In answer to your question, I've been on it since October. I started on .5 and moved up to 1 mg. when it, in combination with the Mirapex, wasn't stopping my movement at night. Because my leg movements during the day has come back (not too badly, but noticeably), sh...

Clonazepam withdrawal

For those of you who have taken Clonazepam with another medication for RLS and had to come off the Clonazepam or reduce the dosage, can you tell me what you experienced as far as withdrawal symptoms? I'm not asking to scare anyone, but would rather be prepared. My MD wants me to increase my Mirapex ...

broker,

Still having to take the Ambien to get some sleep, along with the Mirapex?
Just curious since I also take Mirapex.

Broker,

Sorry I took this room off on a tangent. Have things improved any? Getting any sleep yet, or have you spoken to your doctor?

Ctravel, I'm thinking I'll take her suggestion for one (maybe two) day(s) and see how it goes and if I'm not happy with the results, I'll go back to what works (ha!). It's all my own fault anyway, for jumping the gun and thinking I needed a change. Thanks for the word of caution about Clonazepam. I'...

I'm always amazed when someone can take .125 of Mirapex and be successful. I think it's great. I have to take 1.5 mg. of Mirapex and 1 mg. of Clonazepam. Because some of my daytime restlessness has returned, my doc. wants me to cut back the Clonazepam to .5 at night and take .5 of Mirapex in the mor...

Ctravel, I'm always glad (relieved) to hear when someone else is having success with Mirapex and Clonazepam. A few weeks ago I thought the Clonazepam was making me too drowsy during the day, but then realized, I was just tired from a hectic end of the school year, and am now starting to recover. My ...

Also, when you are dead tired and go to sleep, how do you know you really aren't still moving your legs? There is really no way to know unless someone tells you that you move (i.e. I used to kick my husband pretty hard at night, which he really appreciated), or they monitor you in a sleep study. In ...

Hi Mark, I'm amazed that a doctor would actually say that, although I don't know why. How can he ignore valid research and data? Obviously, he's never looked at the results of his patients' sleep studies or listened when they described the pain they were in. Anyway, I now take 1.5 mg. of Mirapex (al...
