Re: CBD infused cooling gel

Thx Susan, My wife bought me RESTLEX made especially for RLS. They are quite proud of it $$. A mix of small amounts of Ferrous Iron, Vitamin C, Magnesium, etc. If it worked RLS would have been concurred long ago. At least I can take them as a supplement. I've developed a very minor rash I can only a...

Re: Neupro OMG

Thx for the suggestions Rust. Neupro has a little test to see if you can get a discount. Pay as little as $10 a month it says. If you are on Medicare - No Discount. Google says: About 61% of NEUPRO prescriptions cost patients between $0 and $100 a month; for the remaining 39% of prescriptions, the m...

Neupro OMG

I saw #5 opinion Neurologist about severe RLS. He prescribed Neupro 4 mg. Then we had a long discussion about cost and why I did not believe another DA was the answer. After several days I called pharmacy to ask about prescription. Long story short $632 for 30 patches on Medicare with drug plan. I a...

CBD infused cooling gel

I used Kala Organics CBD infused cooling gel last night my wife bought when we were at a 4th opinion neurologist office. When we went to bed she rubbed it on the top of my thighs where my RLS resides and Wow. My RLS reacted like a very hot bath, too much stimulus for my brain to think about sending ...

Re: Ropinirole

A decade ago I took Gabapentin while I slowly got off Clonazepam. Maybe I expected too much and should have given it more of a chance. Then I went through the DAs and ended up back on Clonazepam with Lyrica added a few years later. I’m thinking about switching the Lyrica for Gabapentin since I’m not...

Re: Got my Iron Results!!

One doctor who did a video seminar on RLS.org said he would give someone with your numbers (very much like mine) one treatment ( 2 IV sessions ) but not expect it to work. I think he was out of John Hopkins who will not treat out of state patients anyways. Maybe Harvard. My haematologist listened to...

Re: Ropinirole

I was on 4 mg Ropinirole ER for most of the worst year of my life. I now think I was severely augmented most of the time and was just miserable with 24/7 RLS. I went back on 2 mg Clonazepam in one day and never thought about ER again. Now I'm again dependant on Clonazepam to sleep. I would never rec...

Re: How does community feel about Horizant?

10 years ago I used gabapentin to get off clonazepam over 9 months. It was very difficult and I was not at all satisfied with RLS then. A year later I was back on. Looking back maybe I should have stuck it out a while. Options are few and this one is expensive. Thx for the replies.

How does community feel about Horizant?

I've been referred to a new neurologist, I guess for a second opinion since the two neurologists near me gave up. This new neurologist that is two hours away may want an answer to why I never tried Horizant (gabapentin enacarbil) besides the $600 a month cost. I've been through gabapentin, L-Dopa, t...

Rust, I don’t know how to cure RLS but a sure cure for seasickness is sitting under an oak tree.

Re: Vacation Reprieve

I’m surprised this topic didn’t get more comments. I have noticed it for decades. I think it falls in the category of when your mind is engaged your legs are not. I’ve experienced this in different homes, beds, furniture etc. so I don’t think it’s related to environmental conditions. But thanks for ...

Re: Ferritin Update

I tired recommended oral iron therapy 365mg with C religiously for a year. It was hard on my empty stomach. Then I quit and had a good RLS run for weeks. Never sure that is not just part of a RLS cycle. I want to try it again but maybe a lower dose, less empty stomach. My Ferritin is not low but I h...

Vacation Reprieve

I just finished a three week vacation in the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver, Victoria and Olympic Peninsula with about 10% of my normal RLS torture. I had experienced this before, read about it in the Clinical Management Bible, but never attempted one this long since my RLS had gotten so bad. I took my...

Re: new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

As far as "what I might expect from a neurologist?" My experience is from soup to nuts. Some are really smart and informed but in Florida we are so backward they will not go far from the approved RLS medication list. The last 2nd opinion was really sharp, great bedside manner and very informed about ...

Re: new doctor, neurologist referral (?)

If you Donn't mind me asking, how do you ingest the Kratom? I tried it long ago and it was like choking down a tablespoon of ground up herb. I did it for a few weeks and did not feel any drop in RLS.
