Re: RLS Foundation hosting a Patient Symposium
*egraves01* when I have to be in the one place for a length of time e.g. international flight... I double dose my meds. Not telling anyone else it's the way to go, just that it's what I do. I visualise people standing, sitting while jiggling, walking on the spot etc. and noone will mind. Thanks for...

Re: dipyridamole
I read the entire thread. Thanks. That was very helpful. I think I will try this. I am to the point that the medications I use have little usefulness. I use a power plate a lot -- several times each night and also multiple times a day -- although I don't have to use it as much during the day, for so...

Re: RLS Foundation hosting a Patient Symposium
What I want to know is; for those of us with severe RLS and who have endured augmentation; how in the world could we make a session starting at 8:30AM? Actually that is kind of half joking. The way my RLS is, I don't think I could drive there. I recently have been getting severe RLS symptoms sometim...

I recently read the research article on this website that found that a the lack of adenosine as a contributor to RLS. They mentioned that a drug already exists that increases adenosine although it is not very powerful at it. I was wondering if anyone has tried this drug and what were the results?

I also have had movements in my upper arm and shoulder. In my case I discovered that the movements were coming, at least in part, from my chest muscles. I sometimes do stretching of my chest in a doorway. I raise my arms out perpendicular to my torso and I also put my lower arm up perpendicular to m...

Re: Has anyone used Lyrica for RLS
I tried it after I had gone through augmentation. It did not help me and I became very depressed. Not my favorite drug; but that doesn't mean it won't work for you.

I don't know about that side effect. But several years ago I was on a higher dose -- about 900 mg and became quite depressed, another side effect. Good luck in determining what to do.

Re: Counterstrain Technique
Thanks. Wondering if anyone else has any thoughts? Somewhat puzzling because the patients did not stop their meds and there was no change in sleep loss. Despite this, the aggregate RLS score improved by 10 points. They don't show what specific areas of the questionnaire improved, just the aggregate...

Re: Use of a Vibro Trainer
This sounds a lot like the power plate machine that I described a few months ago. The difference is that I was using the machine to massage my tight muscles -- while you are standing on it to exercise your leg muscles. Interesting that it would work this way for you. How long have you had RLS? Could...

I believe it is a trigger for me. It is also a weakness. I am not sure if it is the sugar or something else in it. But is seems to make things worse. It is also not good for my weight.

All of those nasal steroids bother me and make my RLS worse. I have tried several, including flonase.

Re: Mental RLS triggers
Stress or any kind of disruption triggers it for me. If I am uninterrupted, I can sometimes go to sleep. But these disruptions throw me off and it can take a lot of using the foam roller and other techniques to get me back to a place where I can try again.

Re: Latest on TENS Unit Use for Nighttime Symptoms
I tried a tens unit a couple of years ago. Perhaps I didn't use it correctly. I had read somewhere that what I should do is place each electrode at the beginning and end of a tight area. This did help some. But the problem was that I have so many tight areas on my legs and hips especially that it wa...

Hi EeFall, I saw in some of your posts that you sometimes have problems with itching. I also am on suboxone and have itching problems. My wife is a nurse and she said it was probably an allergic reaction. I now take a Claritin about a half hour before the suboxone and the itching is greatly reduced....
