Re: Small accident
Just as hint for longer car rides: I use a portable heating pad I ordered off of Amazon. It plugs into the plug we use for our phones etc. If heat helps calm the legs this works great. I suspected you were in CO from the elk, coyotes, and miles between towns. We lived in Leadville for almost 4 years...

Re: Overnight away from home
I just returned from my visit to my brother. He had fixed up a sleeping arrangement that worked for both his other house guest and me. Plus the other house guest was a night owl that stayed up until 3 in the morning. We actually joked about raiding the refrigerator in the middle of the night. I expl...

Overnight away from home
I wonder how many of us have this problem. I’m starting to not want to travel anywhere because of the Rls coming on during the night. At home I have the freedom to go down to the kitchen to fix something warm to drink then watch tv it get on the computer. You know, distractions. We’re staying the ni...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
I was able to get my oxycodone refilled after a frustrating day of phone calls to the clinic. My PA upped the dosage from 5 mg to 7.5 and the change was amazing. I was able to get more sleep. I still don't sleep through the night but do get 3 hours at a time on average. I only have gotten up once du...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
Good news! I have an appointment with the Scripps sleep Center in San Diego for February 20. I was surprised to get in that soon. We live in northern Idaho so it won’t be easy But one of our sons lives there so that makes this possible. I have a message in to the PA at the pain clinics c telling her...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
I am so glad you asked about A-Fib Beth. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago during an ER visit. I have had palpitations since I was 10 years old and I'm now 70. When I say palpitations I refer to a very rapid heartbeat that comes on suddenly. I could always get it to resolve by lying down. I started ...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
I forgot to mention that I probably would not try Kratom at this point as I have A-Fib and need to be careful about certain herbal remedies. I noticed that one of the side effects of Kratom is increased heart rate. But I appreciated the suggestion.

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
Thanks, I'll give my husband a big hug! There is a quality care center in San Diego where my son and his family live!! I just got off of the phone with him and told him he may be seeing me in the near future. I will see what my pain doctors reaction is and go from there. I live in Northern Idaho but...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
You gave me good direction as to approaching my pain doctor. I have all the publications you mentioned and I will highlight what applies to me. I will look up a quality care center although the last time I looked there wasn't one near. But it would be worth traveling to to get the best care. I reall...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
I found out from another patient of this pain management clinic that they were closed the entire week between Christmas and New Years. So my message about my needing a refill hasn't even been read. This weekend has been pretty rough with almost constant RLS symptoms in my legs, arms, shoulders, and ...

Re: Two very different doctors' visits
It's that time again to do the refill song and dance. I messaged my PA to let her know that I was low and would need a refill. Shared some info with her about triggers for my RLS. Also mentioned that 5mg oxycodone was not taking care of my symptoms long enough to get some sleep. I asked if we could ...

Re: Another dumb pharmacy trip
I just read this post and I was near tears. I haven't had the horrendous experiences that you have had but have come close. Every time my prescription refill date draws near I get nervous. It is going to be touchy this time because of the dental surgery I just had. The dentist, assistant and I had a...

Re: random rant about a doctor
I have the auditory startle reflex. I didn't know it had a name! I haven't always been like that, just since my rls has gotten worse. I jump at noises that wouldn't bother most people. My husband laughs, nicely, and is puzzled. Now I can tell him why. I'm glad to have found this out.

Re: RLS & Dental Surgery
I came through the 2 hour procedure without a single hint of rls. YAY! I took my oxycodone at the right time so that it would be the most effective during the extractions. The dentist said the bleeding was not too much more than if I hadn't been on Pradaxa. They had a temporary ready to go in over t...
