Re: astronomy
That is really cool. At one point I logged on to some astronomy site/program where an individual(s) can actively look a data/information on a volunteer basis. Can't remember what exactly you look for but there was a little tutorial etc. If you found something in the data that met certain criteria yo...

Re: Horizant causing insomnia?
I think that, for many, medications which often carry the side-effect of "sleepiness" do just the opposite. I think there is a name for it…paradoxical effect I think. Of couse there could be many other reasons but that is just one possibility. Wishing all who visit here some peace this night

Re: RLS or something else? Part 2
Glad you at least have had some relief. I'm hoping that everyone can at least get to the point where the left hand knows what the right hand is doing. It's too bad that "team meeting/conferences" between medical providers are not particularly viable unless you go to someplace like mayo whe...

Took a look at Skeptoid and bookmarked it also. Looks like it could contain some inteesting stuff but I'm a bit skeptical.

Ted Talks
Anyone visit the Ted Talk site? Short talks on a variety of topics which are often interesting, informative, and inspiring. Just watched one entitled "What really happens when you mix medications." A topic near and dear to us. It was pretty basic and I admit I was hoping for more but still...

E, I am glad you are a kindred spirit. I think the pictures are often quite beautiful if not stunning. I enjoy the pictures that evoke pareidolia (the psychological phenomenon where people see recognizable shapes in clouds, rock formations, or otherwise unrelated objects or data). m As I mentioned, ...

Re: PLMW - Or Jerky Legs
Tried to do some reading related to hypoxia and it seems that 5000 ft is a marker frequently mentioned above which people of good health start to experience some effects of higher altitude. I suspect "good health" may or may not apply to us risers. I remember about a decade ago doing a sel...

Re: Whacha readin?
I use my Kindle Fire now for just about all reading and have made it sync with my iphone. The iphone is so much more lightweight to read when in bed than even the Kindle and with a pillow 'plumped' and positioned at the correct angle to support my wrist..... such comfort I haven't read Girl With th...

Whacha readin?
I just finished the last book in the Millenium series (Girl With the Dragon Tatoo). Just started Winds of War which I never got around to reading. Pretty much read via ebook even though I miss the feel of a real book. Just that the ebook is so darn convenient to use in bed. Wishing all who visit her...

Glamping! Gotta love that. On a related note, I'm not a hunter myself and certainly am not anti-hunting. However, much like "clamping" I thing it should be renamed "glunting."

This may or may not be appropriate here or maybe should be a separate topic. There is a rare disease called Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO). It is often referred to as Devic's disease and by some other names It is often confused with MS and because it is a relatively rare disease there are few doctors qu...
